Well, it feels like the top of the world and it's worth it. It's one of the best view ever! A top 2 must do in Maui!

“Amazing!”

Amazing experience! The closest thing to being on Mars! Went hiking in the creator, my shoes still have red volcanic ash! :)

“I slept in the car”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2013

But my wife said it was amazing. I could hear the man singing as the sun fully rose. There was a fairly large crowd and a clear drive up. We left about 230am from north Kihei and beat the buses by about 5-10 minutes. Luckily too as they swarmed the restrooms and railing upon arrival. My wife got a spot between two other tourists and got some great shots. We left just before the sun got totally in the sky. It was her idea. She wanted to beat the crowds and bikes down and we did. She got car sick so be aware of that if you're prone to it. If you're wondering, I slept great in the car.

“On top of the World”

I drove up the Mountain early to watch the sun rise over Haleakala. I was not disappointed. The Park rangers were helpful in explaining the hows and whys of the crater.

“Cold but worth the 2 am trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2013 via mobile

Went to the crater with Mountain Riders for the sunrise. Very crowded viewing area but we still got to take some pretty sunrise pics. It is COLD up there at sunrise- make sure to have warm clothes!
