The total hike is only 2.6 miles roundtrip. It's about 1.3 miles back into the woods with some great views along the way and ends at the falls with some pretty decent photo ops available. Then 1.3 miles back out to your car. This place was jammed pack with folks while we were there. The entire path is now paved, and it's "all uphill" to the falls and then the walk back is a breeze. I will warn you though, the path is narrow in places and you could seriously fall over the edge to your death, so if you decide to take small children, you better keep a hand on them, literally, because there have been a few deaths from falling off the trail over the years. A wandering, ill-behaved child who lacks discipline (which seems to be the norm nowadays) are at risk on this trail.....period. If you aren't a smart parent, then pretend in this instance that you are and stay off of this trail. If you have at least some common sense, then this trail is both a breeze and a relaxing hike to take your family on.
