We had the extreme pleasure of staying at Jenny Lake Lodge for the last three nights of our honeymoon visit to Yellowstone and Grand Tetons National Park. The price was a bit high, but we figured why not splash out on such a special vacation...

...and it was SOOOO worth it! The staff made us feel incredibly welcome and took the time to learn our names--and use them--everytime they saw us. Our cabin, Waterlily, was just beautiful and comfortable. When calling for our reservation, the woman on the phone told us we had to stay at that cabin, and made certain we were able to do so.

Dining at the lodge was just perfect--delicious foods, great selection and attentice service.

The amenities such as horseback riding and the bike rentals were great additions to our stay. We enjoyed pedaling the old fashioned bikes to our daily activities, rather than getting in the car and driving. They also provide hiking sticks for those of us who enjoy a walk past the waterfalls and up the foothills of the mountains. They think of everything!

We had such a great time that we hope to return for an anniversary trip. Looking forward to staying at Waterlily again!

Upon arriving, we were already excited by the unique and beautiful location of this log lodge. Amidst the forest, but with incredible view towards the snow-capped Grand Teton Range. Far way from noise and precipitation of modern society.
The front desk staff was very friendly and courteous in explaining all particularities of life in this lodge.
On the terrace of our cottage cabin Violet we enjoyed a beautiful sunset. The lemon candle on the terrace was very useful to chase the countless mosquitos...
The cottage itself is very typical, nicely decorated. The room is not so large, so we got some difficulties in accommodating all our luggage, but enjoyed it overall.
At 5pm we were invited to a cocktail party, where all the guests and hotel staff gathered around cheese plates and excellent wines. Excellent opportunity to meet interesting people.
The five course dinner (included in the room price) was of extraordinary quality. As Europeans we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of service, food and wines.... No wonder this restaurant has already received many rewards from The Wine Spectator.
And the breakfast the next day was of no lesser quality than the dinner wirh a variety of fresh juices and berries.
And the lunchbox we ordered for a trail towards Inspiration Point (a beautiful half day tour) was also varied and perfect.

The only regret: we booked for only one night.... This is a place we definitely want to return to (as seem to do many repeat guests).
Not a cheap choice, but absolute worth the price!

Our stay at Jenny Lake Lodge was nice yet somewhat disappointing. For the price we paid ($550 a night including breakfast and dinner), we expected top-notch service and accommodations. That, we found out, is largely reserved for their regular guests who come back year after year. While the staff was courteous, their emphasis was clearly reserved for their repeat guests--many of whom returned year after year. Indeed the Lodge guarantees your same room for the same period the following year. Unlike the Jackson Lake Lodge, where the staff was always extremely friendly and helpful, the atmosphere at Jenny Lake Lodge is quite clubby. We also noticed that many repeat guests were very friendly to each other but visably standoffish toward other guests. Also, the staff expected a high level of tipping. We tipped around 22% of our meals, and were made aware that it was not enough by their attitude towards us the next day. The setting is in a beautiful area of Grand Teton National Park and is very convenient to nice hiking. The food is excellent, the cabins nice (we were in a duplex, which had some noise issues), the front desk staff friendly but reserved, the service staff somewhat standoffish, and the guests on the whole insular. It was surprising to to have such an experience in a national park.

We had a fantastic stay at Jenny Lake Lodge. It is in the most incredible location--in the middle of Grand Teton with views of snow-capped peaks right outside your door. Our cabin was rustic and adorable. There aren't many modern features (phones, TV, etc) but this only contributes to the sense of escaping the modern world into a beautiful, natural retreat. The dining room serves excellent food; we always had a first-rate dinner to look forward to after our hikes. You can walk to String Lake where you'll find great swimming spots. It was hot when we were there last summer, and this lake was wonderfully refreshing. The service was good, and the kitchen will make up lunch boxes for you each morning (at an extra price) if you plan to be outdoors all day. Yes, Jenny Lake Lodge is expensive, but it is a wonderful treat and worth the money for the view, location, and fine cuisine.

This was our second visit to Jenny Lake Lodge. We stayed one night and enjoyed it even more this time. The cottages are sweet and very comfortable. The bed had good linens and a down duvet, which was delicious. The bathroom is tiny, but well equipped with a nice soaking tub and massage showerhead with good water pressure. The shampoos and such, all had a cedar scent, which I enjoyed. The food remains wonderful, although I found the dinner menu was rather limited and was not knocked out by the choices. Breakfast was outstanding. Try the huckleberry pancakes! The one caveat I will add to this review is to point out the age of most of the guests. On both occasions we were there, we found that at 40+, we were the babies. At dinner, we were easily the youngest people in the room. Actually, we were probably the only ones who were not members of the AARP! The place can be very 'clicky', as well. Lots of folks come year after year. We rode with a couple that has been there every year for 15 years. The hotel definitely caters to their repeat guests, we got a nicer cabin the second time there and I believe it was due to the fact that we were returning. Although we got good tables at meals, I have read in other reviews that regulars get priority in the dining room and I don’t doubt that to be true. That said, everyone is friendly. The high point of Jenny Lake Lodge is the riding. Mary Sue and her staff are fantastic!
