Being this close to Yellowstone, comparing the two is inevitable I suppose and really unfair to Grand Teton. Yellowstone is one of the premier parks of the National Park system. But Grand Teton is part of the Yellowstone ecosystem and you wil not be able to tell by the scenry when you leave one park and enter the other (the park enterance signs tell you). In fact, if Grand Teton had not been privately owned when Yellowstone was made our first national park by Congress, Grand Teton would possibly be part of Yellowstone Natl Park today. The mountains of Teton are stunning, but difficult to photograph collectively at once. I have seen more moose in Grand Teton than I have in Yellowstone. But the lodges in Grand Teton are sometimes a little pricey or inadequate. I probably would stay in Jackson or Hatchet Resort. But if you find the Teton Park Road and drive it early in the morning or late in the evening, you most certainly find wildlife photo opportunities galore. I have attached some of several dozen pictures we took of a female moose and her calf. I also have seen wolves near the roadway here. Grand Teton is worth your time, it is beautiful and has more than its share of wildlife. I totally disagree with the negative review that was most recently posted here, it is well worth your time and effort to see and enjoy.
