“Cruisin Cascade Canyon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2013

A wonderful day hike from Leigh Lake. Take a picnic and plenty of water and enjoy the spectacular views of the glacier lakes below. If you're lucky, you will also see lots of wildlife, don't forget your bear spray!

“difficult early climb”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013

The climb to Inspiration Point is not easy; the trail is rocky, but the views back across the lake and up the canyon are incredible. Hiking further up the canyon is easier and to be between the peaks is an imposing experience.

“Gorgeous scenery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013

You have to walk a ways into the canyon to see how the canyon got its name, but it is totally worthwhile. We also got to see a Moose from pretty close distance.

“Keep Walking!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013

I don't want to sound like a broken record but if you've read more than a few reviews for Cascade Canyon you've already heard this: If you make it all the way up to Inspiration Point don't turn back after checking out the view. The best is yet to come and you've already come through the most strenuous part of the trail. There's nothing quite like seeing the canyon open up before you as you walk further up the trail. You can choose how far you want to go into the canyon based on your energy levels but definitely go at least an extra 15-30 minutes into the canyon to take in the magnificent views. It's easy to understand why this is one of the most popular and beloved hikes in Grand Teton. You will not regret the extra effort (though you might be hurting a bit more that night)!

“Don't stop at Inspiration Point!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2013

Whatever time you have, hike into the canyon. We had to turn back after about an hour and a half, and I so wish we had more time to go farther! The trail is shaded for the most part, and flat after the inspiration point (we were told, for about 3.5 miles). You are walking in a forest along a creek, mountains on both sides - absolutely beautiful. We took a boat ride (didn't have to wait for 15 minutes either way as their website says, the boats go back and forth as long as there are people waiting) which was very nice although short, about 5 minutes one way. Started at 10am on a Monday morning in August, and the boat wasn't even full. There were just a few people on the trail, but it was very crowded on our way back, we literally had to stop to give way a few times. For the hour and a half we were able to spend there, it was an easy trail. I am afraid of heights (even switchbacks heights, if along an edge), but had no problems with the inspiration point (and my kids were there, too :)). If I were back and had to choose a hike for one day in the park, I'd do this one, but would continue and probably do a loop to return through the Paintbrush Canyon trail to the boat.
