Apprehensive at first, due to all kinds of ridiculous phobias... and it is a rather expensive thing to do...It was beyond words---- amazing! Our pilot Jeff was competent & friendly, making sure to check in regularly with us to be sure ever one was doing alright. It was a little windy and the only time it felt weird was when we came up out of the canyon - there was a little up/down motion, but Jeff had warned us ahead of time that that might be the case, so I was prepared...It was like an airborne carnival ride, only not that dramatic.
We took the Majestic tour - a little longer tour in the ECO 130 chopper, and it was a great choice. You flying over the canyon from the east and when that field drops away and you are over the canyon for the first time....what an rush! The chopper has glass/windows all around so the photo ops are great.
The sound track playing in our headphones was totally appropriate to the vistas...Headphone mics were not really all that good, and scratchy...My only real complaint, it that they make you wear this weird bulky life preserver that if you go down from that height into the river, that thing is not going to save you - so leave it off. You fly over the Colorado River for about 5 minutes! It was not comfortable considering you are wearing a pretty intense seat belt harness with 2 shoulder straps.
Don't over dress- the cockpit is climate controlled.
All in all.. I would spend that money again tomorrow!
