“Rugged downhill”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

It was tough due to the mule traffic. The route was torn up but I believe it has been repaired. Great views. Downside is no water source

“Best views in the canyon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

Constructed by the NPS to take advantage of the views, this is a spectacular trail. If you have limited time, hike down to Cedar Ridge (1.5 miles each way). Carry water and snacks. The trail is steep but well maintained.

“Hot!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

Great views! Quickest hike to the bottom! Look for big horned sheep! Just because it is a shorter trail, don't forget plenty of water. There are not many shady spots along the way!

“Steep but best views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012

Really steep trail - recommend poles for downhill & skip this trail if the wind/gusts are high. Definitely enjoyed the view from this trail more than Bright Angel & will do it again. Warning - no water on trail - also no shade. Watch out for this trail in Summer - hotter with fewer amenities/comforts.

“4 hours hike to skeleton point”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

You can't hike to the colorado river in 1 day but you can hike to the skeleton point where you can see the colorado river. The way is downhill which adds mental stress of knowing it will be hard hiking back up. It took me 1.5hours hiking up from skeleton point back to the trail head. Falling off the cliff can be fatal. No water supply on the way
