This is a low-budget hotel with a top dollar price tag. After a recent two night stay at the Denali Bluffs Hotel, we were very dissapointed. Upon our arrival at the train station, we had to run all over the place to different buses to ascertain which one was going to the Denali Bluffs Hotel, as our bus had no sign. Then, upon arrival, we were left standing in the middle of the parking lot, not knowing where to go or how to get a key. In addition, two senior citizens had to drag their luggage up and down steep slopes for about a block getting to the last building, and then upstairs to the room (no hotel help and no elevators). The room was small, but clean and had a nice view of the canyon. The hotel restaurant food was very average, but the worst experience was the box lunch that we purchased from them for the Tundra trip the next day. The lunch cost approximately $15/person; it was made the night before and was very soggy with a dried up cookie...terrible!! Our experience there would insure us not returning. My son is at Denali as I write this review, and we advised him to stay at the Denali Princess Hotel, which is much more upscale.

We were quite disappointed in that we were in a lower level room facing another building and there are no sound barriers between the upstairs and lower level. We could hear every step the folks upstairs took, not to mention every time they flushed their toilet or took a shower. The area is beautiful. The upper level rooms probably have a fantastic view, and are not quite so noisy. We would return only if we were guaranteed a room on the upper level with a balcony. The lower level rooms are dark with absolutely no view nor is their any privacy.

The Bluffs is a group of two story wooden cabins perched on the side of a hill overlooking a scenic valley. The cabins are small but relatively clean and adequate.
Being part of a discount tour group, we were assigned one of the worst cabins of the lot. Our downstairs cabin balcony had no view, just overgrown brush and it was situated directly above the highway for maximum traffic noise. We were also the last ones to be cleaned, and when we returned in the afternoon from our Denali tour, our room was still undone. We told them to forget it and collapsed exhausted into our unmade bed.
Buses from Anchorage deliver guests every night, sometimes quite late, so if you have a downstairs cabin you will endure the noise of people dragging luggage up the wooden stairs and then tramping into their room over your head. We had a family of four that kept us awake well into the night
If you are going to stay at the Bluffs, I would advise that you at least request an upstairs cabin, both for the view and the quietness.

My husband and I spent two nights at Denali Bluffs. The hotel is very close to Denali National Park, rafting, restaurants, convenient store, and gas station. The room was nicely decorated in rustic style and clean. Downside: with the sliding glass door open, you could hear the traffic from George Parks Highway. We had a problem for which we requested hotel maintenance. They responded in a timely manner and fixed the problem. The Mountaineer Cafe has a great breakfast buffet. We ate dinner one night in the same cafe. The food was very good.
