With family visiting from the lower 48 we decided to plan a quick trip to Denali National Park and Preserve. As it was a last minute decision we had some trouble finding lodgings in July. We did however run across two available "Kitchen cabins" at the Denali Grizzly Bear Cabins & Campground.
The "kitchens" had a small 4 burner gas stove/oven, and a sink with only cold water. There were cabinets, but they are fastened shut, so nowhere to store anything. No icebox, or fridge. No pots, pans, silverware, etc... Also since there is no private bathrooms in the Kitchen cabins our only option for a shower was the campgroud showers, 75 cents gets you 2 and a half moments of water, the first thirty seconds of which are ice cold, each time you add quarters. The showers were also very small and somewhat dirty. Now on a good note the cabins had a lot of character, and were quite cute. There were towels provided in the cabins. But all in all the good was not enough to convince me to stay at this location again.
