“Clean and Comfy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2014

My husband and I stayed here while visiting Denali. The room was clean and as pictured. It was an easy 10 minutes or so south of the park and it was nice to be away from the mega tourist area. We ate once at the restaurant which was good. As other reviewers noted, we had a cabin away from the road and the internet was spotty. In the room I was also not able to get cell service. Still an excellent place to stay- you're at Denali, unplug!

Glad you enjoyed your time with us! Yes, cell service is limited on the property, but we do offer complimentary WiFi, however it can be limited depending on guest usage....but you are right Denali is just the place to unplug and enjoy the beauty.

This was our staging location for Denali N.P. Check in was smooth and the service was good. The cabins are pretty spartan, with no micro or fridge. While the deck off the cabin is pleasant, ours did not really have much of a view of Carlos creek due to the trees and the bugs were significant enough that we didn't lounge about outside too much.

Neither the ice machine or the soda machine were working during out stay. The desk staff was nice in giving us ice from there machine for the restaurant, but had to limit that on our second day too. Sodas are available from the desk or restaurant, though it's worth noting that the restaurant charged .25 more.

We didn't really have any complaints and enjoyed our stay here. It's quiet and peaceful and the staff are genuine and helpful.

Room Tip: Cabins are all duplex design, with the rear deck shared between the two rooms.

Thanks for your feedback. You booked into our Standard Creekside Cabin an economy cabin which is a great bang for the buck for Denali, but they do not have a microwave nor frig, all our other cabins do have those amenities. Not sure about the pricing of the soda, but we will adjust it so the prices are consistent. The ice machine has been fixed, but unfortunately during your stay is was not working, one of the challenges of our remote location is getting parts to repair. Again I appreciate the time your took to give us your opinion and experience.

Spent three nights here while visiting Denali. The cabin was very clean, comfortable and exactly as pictured. I ate several breakfasts and dinners in the Café and all the food was excellent. But what really impressed me was the staff; from housekeeping, to the front desk, to the Cafe waitstaff, all were friendly, helpful and seemed dedicated to customer service.
The reason for the 4 rating instead of a 5 was the internet service. It was advertised as available in every cabin but I had trouble accessing it from my cabin. My cabin was in the back (I think #37) so distance may have been a factor. The front desk responded promptly when I told them about it by resetting it twice but it only lasted a short while both times before it went out again. I could and did access it from the Café and office with no problems but it certainly would have been more convenient for me from my cabin. Advertising internet access in all cabins was one of my reasons for booking here.
That being said, I would still highly recommend staying here.

Room Tip: If internet access is important to you, make sure it is available in ALL cabins at the time of your...

Thank you for taking time to post your feedback. Glad you enjoyed your overall time with us. We are very fortunate to have an amazing staff of people working with us. They do care and I am thrilled you felt that, because they all work very hard to assist our guests.

As for the internet...we do not charge for this service, as we advertise as complimentary WiFi, but I will add to the website that service can be spotty. Accessibility depends on the number of users at a given time and amount of downloads...I apologize this service did not meet your expectations, but glad you were able to get the access you needed in the Cafe'...WiFi-a work in progress :-)

These cabins are quite a drive from the park and from food. They are duplex cabins with paper thin walls. Smoking is allowed on the shared deck, so if you want a non smoking room, you might end up smelling smoke anyway. Cabins were clean and the beds were comfortable. The cafe offers breakfast for a reasonable price and the food was good

Broken ice machine, thin walls/noisy adjoining room, uncomfortable bed, and view to the creek obstructed by a berm made this tiny cabin a disappointment. The room was clean, good location, good food at the restaurant, and friendly people, but this was the lemon on our dream vacation.

Very disappointing to hear as well. We try hard to provide clean, comfortable accommodations with friendly hospitality at reasonable rates, sorry we did not meet your expectations. Glad you enjoyed the rest of time/trip to Alaska.

We stayed in a Creek side Cabin for three nights, the location was beautiful, the first day we arrived it was a nice sunny day and it was very relaxing reading a book with a glass of wine on the deck chairs provided on the edge of the creek. We booked a helicopter flight over Denali National Park through the accommodation however were told the wrong time to get to the departure point from staff and had to wait around for the next available flight. The cabins are pretty basic and small. The meals in the café were very nice. On the second evening it started raining and rained all of the following day and evening. It became a bit boring with no tv and being stuck in a small room. Although it was a nice location If we returned to the area I think I would pay the extra and stay in town.

Glad you enjoyed your time in Denali. Sorry you would not choose to stay with us again. We cater to guests that want to be close to the park, but not in all the busyness of the park entrance. Our rooms/cabins do not have TV's or phones. Most guests do not find this to be a problem, but certainly not for everyone. Thanks for the feedback.

Great views and the staff can't be beat. It's independently owned and their personal attention to your needs is reflected. The staff was wonderful and the food from the dining area was great. They are able to pack a sack lunch to take into Denali for the bus tour in the park, with sandwiches made on sourdough bread and homemade cookies. The cabin is small but has everything you need. We had a full sized coffee pot, small refrigerator, and microwave oven along with paper plates and plastic silverware. We stayed at one of the Princess lodges and they didn't have a refrigerator or microwave. They have a small eat in area in the room and two chairs on the deck for sitting and enjoying the outside. They build a campfire nightly along the creekside and you may get to view some of the local wildlife. I definitely plan on staying there again on my next trip to Denali. The short drive after a long day in the park makes it a perfect place to stay. Thank you to all of their staff for helping make this part of our trip wonderful!

So glad you enjoyed your time with us and Denali. We do have an amazing staff and I feel very fortunate to have a group of people working with us that really enjoy what they do and it reflected in the service they give. Hope to see you again when visiting Denali.
