“Really Cool”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

This was one of our first stops in Death Valley--what an interesting place. Amazing to see this first hand and hike out through this area. Be careful walking through it, but try it!

“Interesting to see but don't expect salt sculptures”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

We visited the devils golf course on 2/21. The ride to the course was a 1 1/4 mile dirt road that our Honda Civic (low clearance) had no problems with. From what I had read, I expected the salt structures to be 3 to 5 feet high and spaced out so you could walk amoung them, none of that is true. The salt mounds are 1 to 2 feet high, packed tightly together and there really are no sculptures. It is impossible to hike in the golf course, you can hop from salt mound to salt mound ,kind of like bouldering in a wash but it wasn't much fun. It's worth seeing and doesn't take a lot of time but come with low expectations. If you are pressed for time go to the Bad water salt flats instead.

A short drive to view the "course", and I found it pretty interesting. Imagine how this was formed...

“Devil's Golf Course”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

It's been a while since I've been there, but it's a cool place to go. If you are only there for a short time, you can skip it for the more popular things at the park.

“Devils Golf Course, Death Valley”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013

out in the middle of the valley, what was Lake Manley - vast fields of salt crystals, usually blinding white if clean; the water table is very close to the surface here, and the formations are sharp - be careful when you walk around. Look for tiny crystals forming here and there.
