“Great campground”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2012 via mobile

We stayed here during Memorial Day weekend. There were about 7 campsites occupied that night. Campsites were spacious and all had a fire pit and table. Some campers said the night before rained and was very windy. We saw a little wind that died down after sunset and was very mild all night. No noisy campers and everyone was polite. The restrooms had running water and flushing toilets. They were extremely clean also. This is a great place to stay in northern Death Valley and is very close to Scotty's Castle, the craters and the road to racetrack playa. I would definitely stay here again. Next time I will stay several nights there instead of just one.

“Away From It All”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2010

Mesquite Springs is in northern Death Valley. The first time I was there in March of 2010 the campground was full, I couldn't believe how many people were camping, all the sites were taken, of course the weather was ideal. So I planned a trip for June of 2010 hoping that not too many campers were out. After all, who in their right mind is camping out there in June. The tempratures can reach near 120 degrees with lows in the mid to upper 80's at this campground. I was right, there were only three or four other campers. The sounds of silence is awesome, and the stargazing is incredible. If you can handle the heat, love the desert, and want to get away from it all, this campground is for you. Just make sure that you are prepared for the worst if you go out there in the summer.

“Desert Rat's Paradise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2003

The campground is primitive but does have water and flush toilets. The weather in the fall and spring is usually very nice but showers and windy conditions are not uncommon. The desert is great for walking; there are petroglyphs in the area within a couple of miles from the campground. Coyotes, Ravens, Road runners, and cottontail rabbits wander through the campground. We love it and try to stay twice a year.
