“The film sucks, but the place is amazing”

The view is astounding. there are lots of tourists, including myself, but try to forget the coaches and cars and try to imagine where you are and what you are viewing. This place is worth seeing.

“Great view especially in the evening”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2014

An impressive view over the dune-like eroded yellow hills and the low plains in the distance. A bit of high clouds made the colors not as good as hoped but the sunset was spectacular and colourful. A very short but steep walk to the point makes access very easy. The 115 degree temperature in the day was a bit hard but it was probably "only" 105 at sunset. Best in the morning or evening when it is somewhat cooler and the colors are better.

“Magical but scary too”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2014

Death Valley has to be one of the world's last great wildernesses. We drove over 250 miles within the National Park itself and the surrounding area, which is just as extreme, and still barely scratched the surface. One place we did make a point of visiting however was Zabriskie Point and what a worthwhile journey it was. In 111 degrees we made the short climb from the car park and just stood in awe at a view which is as spectacular as it is strangely terrifying. During a visit to Death Valley one can rapidly begin to feel utterly insignificant, little more than a speck of dust in this unforgiving cauldron of Nature and this is particularly so at Zabriskie Point. The amazing 'badland' ridges, spectacularly eroded rock formations and of course the unremitting summer heat all combine to provide an almost intimidating reminder of the relentless power of Nature but although it may be a hell of a drive to reach, once you've made the commitment to crossing Death Valley make sure you don't miss this special place.

“Surreal”

Surreal and awe inspiring. Make this a must-stop on your auto tour of this National Park. Easily accessible, spacious parking lot, and several restrooms available.
