We ate at the lodge three times during our trip, as it was easy, and there are not a lot of options in the area. The dinners were fabulous. Based on other reviews, we didn't know what to expect, and we not about to quiz other diners about their dinners. However, glad we took the chance. Husband went with special of surf and turf, and it was really, really good. Not just good for park food, but really good- the steak was tender, cooked perfectly, and the jasmine rice it came with was heavenly. The half portion of the lobster risotto was more than enough, leaving you room for desert. I am not usually a desert person, but the desert the first night was so good (chocolate mouse pie), that we got following our second meal as well. If you like chocolate, you cannot go wrong- it had it in every form, yet didn't feel heavy, or "too much". We also had the Jalapeno Rangoons for an appetizer, and they were lovely, and we were pleasantly surprised with their heat. Second night we decided to go back after reading the pretty bad reviews for all the other restaurants in the immediate area- we were not dissapointed. Dinner again was great, had a wonderful wine from Colorado, and the lemon-poppy seed creme brule was a wonderful end to dinner. Breakfast here was standard fair- a buffet that had a lot of on if you are someone who eats a lot in the morning, but also menu dishes for buffet adverse. The pancakes I recieved were HUGE. I don't think anyone could finish them, but they were good. The bacon was perfectly crisp.
