The entrance to the Arches National Park is within 5 miles of the city of Moab. Access to the Park is by excellent paved roads and well marked trails. Visitors can see a a lot just from their auto but so much more can be see by hikes that range from less than a mile to two miles. Excellent maps and trail guides can be picked up at the visitors center. These maps detail the difficulty of the hike. I marveled at the arches, rock formations and gnarled junipers. Every place you turn is a photo opportunity. You can not help but feel enthused with all these marvels of nature. One needs at least 3 days to get to really enjoy this park. You really need to research information about the park to get the best photos. The color of the rocks do not "pop" unless the light is right. These means that some locations are best photographed in the morning, some around noon and others in the afternoon. The Arches National park is outstanding treasure for all to enjoy.
