“Beautiful, pristine lake”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

the nature trial around the pond is so beautifully built with raised wooden beams on the south side and a granite pebble trail on the north. The views are sublime. This is an easy 3 mile walk for anyone who walks regularly.

“Love it here”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

Jordan Pond is a beautiful place to visit. The shop gets a little busy, but that is to be expected. There is actually a decent amount of parking, as there are several lots close by, we didn't have a problem with that. Once you go behind the building, and walk past the restaurant tables, there tends to be a decent amount of people right at the start of the pond. It's a beutiful place, has easy access, so again, this is to be expected. It's one of the highlights of the park, and as such, there will be people there. However, once we started hiking around the pond, the crowd dissipated instantly. It's a nice, easy, pretty level hike around the pond, and it's a scenic walk. At about the halfway mark, there is a path to hike up the bubbles, or you can keep going around the pond. The right side of the pond is fairly level and simple, good for strollers, kids, bikes, etc. The left side is a little more rocky, and while it's fairly simple even for people that are not in the best of shape, I would think it could get tricky with bicycles and/or strollers. So if you have either, and haven't been, I'd recommend walking the right side. There's plenty of great spots to just go off the path and relax, catch your breath, and soak in the views.

“Jacob Pond Trail was my favorite.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2013

Jacob Pond was so scenic and quiet. This mountain lake was idillic beauty. It was maybe a 4 mile hike, not challenging terrain, about 1 mile of split log boardwalk, quant bridges, lots of waterfalls, just gorgeous. I was completely high on fresh air and clean beauty. Being here just before Memorial day allowed us to have the place practically to ourselves. Hope to be able to return one day.

“Missed the popovers but still had a treat!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2013

Between sequestration closing the park loop road and it being "early" in the season (first week of May), Jordan Pond House was a ghost town. We parked & walked around the place & only saw one man working on a ladder who totally ignored us & everything was locked up tight. However, that meant we had the entire pond trail to ourselves which was fantastic! We walked clockwise which meant we did the areas with boulders & planking (over the soggy areas) first and finished with the more paved trail section. There were a couple of areas where the trail was not well marked through the boulders, but there were also a couple of trees down across the path, so I don't think the trail was quite ready for the season yet. Either way, it wasn't too hard to figure out since you are hugging the edge of the large pond. The pond was lovely-gorgeous clear water & we really enjoyed the walk. I suspect it might be "buggy" in the summer as well as crowded, so we felt pretty fortunate to have a sunny, cool, quiet day! Note: While I would totally list this as an easy walk, don't expect the smooth flat trail of the one side to be the same the whole way around.

Nice to hike around the lake.. We did not have lunch there, instead brought a picnic lunch and ate right on the lake!
