Excellent choice for the island, very clean and good value for money. Convenient location with plenty of chill out choices nearby and nice sense of hospitality from hotel staff. Sea view rooms are to be preferred (ask the reception after booking for that), in any case room size is above average with lot of space available for luggage etc (at least in our room). I would only prefer a larger TV!

Stay there for a night.Good location.Very old premises.Need for renovation. The worst breakfast.I preferred to have coffee out.Not even a hot food in breakfast.Bread from previous day and when i ask the said a cold no.
Not suggested.Narrow rooms and old furnitures.Even bath amenities were of bad and cheap quality.

We stayed here for 2 nights in late Augusts prior to spending 2 weeks at a beach hotel. The hotel is well situated, right on the harbour front with a plentiful choice of restaurants and bars. If you can, try and get a sea view room - the views are stunning across the harbour and waterfront. We had a double, sea view room and although the room was basic, it was more than adequate for a 2 night stay. It was clean, and of a good size. Check in was easy and we were soon in our room! There is a lovely roof top bar and pool but I cannot understand why the hotel does not promote this more - it could be a potential gold mine for them. Its so under used! The views from here are just wonderful! Breakfast was buffet style and was plentiful - more of an expanded continental breakfast but plenty to choose from!

All in all, a good stay and value for money. Would we stay there again? Yes, for a short stay its perfect - you can't beat its location. A short cab ride from the airport and you right in the heart of Zakynthos town.

Room Tip: Try and get a sea view room - great views!

Our first impressions on checking into our room at the Strada Marina, were mixed. The plus points were the size of the room, cleanliness and quality of the bathroom and view from the balcony. Minus points were the room smelt of smoke, the carpet and light fittings were stained and the air con did not seem to have much guts – although Zakynthos was experiencing unusual weather of about 35 degrees in mid September. The hotel is situated on the main port road, so there is some noise from motor bikes and cars, although this did not really keep us awake at night, the sound proofing could be better.

Once we had settled in the smoke smell did disappear after a couple of days (we were there for 9 nights), the air con did improve, and we learned to ignore the stains. The room was cleaned daily and to a good standard. The room had a small fridge with a tiny ice box (enough for ice cubes).

The view from the balcony was amazing; we had a room on the third floor (314) which seemed to be in the middle of the hotel with a good central view of the harbour. As the weather was exceptionally hot the balcony could be a little warm at night, but we enjoyed being able to drink wine and people watch. The sun shone directly on to the balcony in the morning, and proved a little too hot to sit on (in our opinion), but by midday was in the shade and much more pleasant.

The hotel also had a roof terrace with swimming pool, but unfortunately the pool and bar was closed during our stay. However, it was still possible to sit on the terrace which was quite nice in the afternoon, if you wanted to sunbathe.

We booked our hotel through its own website and paid 60 euros including breakfast per night. The breakfast was OK by Greek standards, there was a choice of bread rolls, feta cheese, sliced cheese, liver sausage, ham, tomatoes, croissants, tinned peaches, fresh fruit and greek yoghurt, with a choice of water, orange, tea and coffee, jams & honey. It was a help yourself buffet, so you could eat as much as you wanted.

The hotel is surrounded by bars and restaurants and the main shopping street and Solomos Square is just behind. We particularly enjoyed Spartacus and Ammos Taverna. There are a few grill houses, a couple along the harbour, but we found the best one to be in a street behind the hotel, which sold amazing chicken from the spit.

If you walk to Kryoneri, further on from the town beach there are a couple of nice restaurants by the water (Asteria and The Green Boat being a fish restaurant), there are also some very small beaches, where you can swim from.

We visited a few of the resorts on the Island by bus, which goes from just outside the Clock tower & Church at the port. Buses aren’t always that frequent and annoyingly don’t stop in the town on their return, but at the bus station above the town, which means about a 15 minute walk back into town.

We did take a taxi at times, there is a rank a few streets from the hotel. Cost to Kalamaki beach (the best beach in our opinion) was 10 euros, Argassi was 8 euros (although there is a tourist train that goes to and from Argassi just down from the hotel). Taxi from the airport is 13 euros.

I spent 3 nights in Strada Marina. Good location, clean rooms & nice view are the advantages of the hotel. The breakfast was very very poor & the staff in restaurant not friendly at all. The staff in the reception were very friendly and always willing to help.

I personally do not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially for the outraging price of 110€. I have stayed several nights in the middles of August and I have many complaints. Although the room had a nice little balcony and a wonderful view to the port, it was filthy and we had several uninvited guests (ants). We were the lucky ones because some rooms had small windows and balconies to… nowhere.
In my opinion the breakfast is below average (it’s a shame because the island is full of wonderful traditional products) and the service on the roof garden simply inadequate. Due to the lack of noise proof in the rooms we had an early wake up in the morning.
To the cons of the hotel is that it has a very good location and it’s only a few minutes away from museums and squares.

Visit Zante, not Strada Marina Hotel.

I have stayed in Strada Marina a lot of times (single nights, weekends, 2 weeks).

It is situated in capital city , being the centre of the island. Walking distance to central squares (Saint Marcos, Solomos) which are the hart of city nightlife, and museums.

For summer vacations a bit noisy, but you can reach all magnificent island’s beaches with just 15-25 minutes driving.

The hotel is clean, breakfast above average, and personnel very polite and helful.

Do not miss a coffee or a drink at the hotel's roof garden !!!
