“The Old Church is now Absolutely Disgusting”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2013

My wife and I will never return to this place - who has ever been to a restaurant and got into an argument with the owner/chef..? . We have been going to the old church countless times over the past 6 years. They have recently changed management and we thought we would try it out. My wife was pregnant at the time so ordered her meat to be cooked "well done". My meal was delivered to the table, followed by hers 10 minutes later. Her meat was red raw. We returned it. It came bace back 5 minutes later, still undercooked all bloody. Believe it or not, but we ended up returning the dish 4 times until she was able to eat it, meanwhile I'd finished my meal 30 minutes ago. We were shocked that the meal was still on the bill. We said we were not prepared to pay for it under the circumstances. The manager came out (who was the owner and the chef as well) and said we had to pay for it as we had eaten "most of it". After 15 minutes of arguing he said he would give us one of the lemon squashes for free to compensate. We were disgusted, disappointed and have been left with terrible memories of the place we used to love. (worth mentioning my meal was extremely average and the whole place is now way too overpriced). BRING BACK THE OLD MANAGEMENT!

“A do not miss on Mt Tamborine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013

Everywhere we went in our time at Mt Tamborine we were told was to make sure you go to this restaurant so our hopes were very high and we were not disappointed... The atmosphere was perfect for a romantic night out for every couple there. The food was devine. The service was 'A' class. Will certainly go back there when back on the mountain.

“What a gem! Who knew Mt Tamborine could offer such exquisite food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

Decided on the 6 course degustation without really knowing what we would have. Just told the waiter the handful of food items that we're not fussed on. It's obvious that the herbs are homegrown in the restaurant's nearby garden and the Chef's proud of what they produce. The service was outstanding our waiter was attentative and knowledgeable. The meal that followed was simply outstanding. We had scallops, tortellini, followed by melt in mouth pork belly, veal, lamb, chocolate hazelnut brulee.

“Don't miss this restaurant as you miss out on a great experience.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2012 via mobile

The setting is fantastic & is matched by the great service of the lovely Irish waitress.
Andrew the owner & chef had come back to work after the birth of their second child only the day before & cooks everything from scratch every night.
The food was simply devine & a good wine list as well!

“Surprised of the outcome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

We booked for 6pm as we like to eat early; on arriving in the car park we found that we were the only 2. We look at each other and at the sometime said hope this isn’t a bad sign. How wrong could we have been, we made our way inside and were seated in front of the open fire place and had a few minutes to look over the wine and drinks list. The owner came over and placed some more wood on the fire and sat and told us the history of were the church had come from and a bit about his family that ran the church. We decided to have the degustation this was an excellent choice as it gave us the opportunity to try more of what was available to eat on our next visit. By the way the church was almost packed by time we left, good idea to book.
