“Warm room good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

Freezing outside, so the fire was roaring. Lamb shank meal was brilliant and room was very warm. Struggled to pick up the wifi but by that point I was just ready for bed! Perfect for one nighters!

“Very tasty food above expectations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2013

Our group of 6 were all so impressed with our meals! The wine was outstanding, good local labels at good prices. The pork belly was a highlight for our group although some big eaters may also want to order a side of chips to share. The fish and chips were so fresh and the chips were the best I have had in years so crispy and well seasoned! We sat outside at one of many tables, there was also a garden bar with a playground and lots of grass so would recommend it for summer visits by families!

We were on the rail trail and the team at the Royal came and collected us from Ranfurly and dropped us back after a great meal. Definately a highlight.
