Food nice and a good atmosphere . Great garden and just of the main drag. Ideal after driving up the A51 for ages.

“Superb Sunday Lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013 via mobile

We're regular visitors to the Stamford bridge and are rarely disappointed with the experience.

On this occasion we had gone for Sunday Lunch. Most Sunday's are normally pretty packed but as it was St Patrick's day it was particularly busy. We still managed to get a table within 30 mins or so without a reservation.

Once seated and settled we promptly choose what we wanted and ordered at the bar. Our food came soon after served by polite and attentive staff. We had a prawn cocktail and potato wedges to start. For mains we both had roast dinners. Portions sizes are always on the generous side. Plenty of dips with the starters and ample amounts of gravy with the roasts. The meats were lovely and tender, served with lots of delicious vegetables, roasters and new potatoes and a giant yorkshire pudding. Perfect!

Overall the food was great and the service was excellent. I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone.

“pleasant suprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

My wife and i tried this pub last week and were very pleased we did.The staff were all extremely helpful and attentive. We were seated as we walked in straight away, the gentleman took our drink orders .I am a real ale drinker and they have seven on tap,the best thing for me was that they offer you a pint mug with handle if you so desire. It is so rare to see these now.The food i must say was without fault and i will go there again soon. There is also a large beer garden ,weather permitting.A forty mile round trip, but worth it for us.

“Great management”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2013

First of all I wouldn't say that this restaurant is in Tarporley - nearer to Tarvin.

Always busy and buzzing, this is a great restaurant with hearty portions and a good variety of dishes on the menu. Neil does a wonderful job of managing a very busy and quite large restaurant and we are always warmly welcomed when he is on duty. All the other staff are lovely and helpful too. Comfortable sofas and chairs near the bar if you need to wait for a table and the waiting times quoted are usually pretty accurate.

You only need to look at the car park to see what a popular venue this is.
