“Dont go there”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

We had the valentines meal & our experience wasnt a good one. The waitress just plonked our wine down in the bucket & left it to us to pour for ourselves. Food wasnt of good standard, we waited at least 1/2 hour in between our starter & main (which wasnt worth waiting for). I had heard good reviews about the resturant before we went so was hoping for more, it may have been because it was a set meal that the food wasnt up to much. Maybe if in the area again would give it another go, but dont think we will be rushing back. Sorry

“Not the best, a bit disappointed!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013 via mobile

We attended on Feb 15th for valentines, which was a set menu. The waitress did not offer to take our coats and rushed us to our table which was tiny! we could just about fit our plates on the table with bottles and glasses there was no room to spare. Even though bigger tables for two were available we were told it was for a later sitting. We were asked to choose our starters and mains at the same time and the plates were swiftly taken away the second our cuttlery hit the plate. No bread was offered in between the starter and main or at the beginning. Once we had finished our desert the waitress asked if we wanted our bill! We have never felt so rushed! It really did spoil what was meant to be a romantic evening! Certainly no time for gazing into each others eyes or having an in depth conversation! The food was ok not michelin standard the crab and prawn tasted extremely fishy and left a very fishy taste on the pallete which would not wash away with wine nor water! The pate tasted weird in the beef Wellington too! To be honest we were relieved when it was time to go as we didnt really enjoy the evening! My disappointment didn't stop there, frequent trips to the bathroom for the next couple of hours killed any chance of rekindling any romance! Would not go again!

“Style, Class & Taste - it has it all!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013 via mobile

We visited the Who'd a thought it last night for a valentines meal, and can't recommend it highly enough! The atmosphere was lovely. Food was excellent (as we had heard it would be). The decor is amazing a very distinct style, reminds me of the decor of Gaucho Grills! Faux prints and chandeliers! Our waitress was very knowledgable as a result we had a lovely bottle of wine to complement our meal.

Thanks we will definitely be returning!

“A long awaited perfect suprise!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013 via mobile

My boyfriend brought me here for a suprise valentines day meal, I had no idea! I had heard of this place before as my parents came here often for their anniversarys and they always told me it was a very special place. The valentines set meal was great, there were sufficient options to choose from and even my picky other half was happy with the menu! We dined at the second sitting at 9pm it was still fairly busy however it wasn't too noisy. I chose the Duck Terrine to start and the Beef Wellington for main: they were both fantastic, I'm usually more of a fish/cheese/mushroom person, they were extremely flavoursome and filling. The staff were very helpful and not too in your face but kept on top of everything perfectly.

I would recommend visiting this restaurant it's a wonderful evening out and a very special place.
