“great place to chill fab food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2014

Just spent 1 night here in a suit. Fairly pricey room but the food and drink were reasonably priced and exceptional quality and more than made up for the room rate. Saturday night they have a live singer who was great, restaurant busy with a lovely atmosphere. Breakfast great quality but not much choice would have liked some fruit and felt it should have been served in the restaurant not the bar area as this was the last thing you did before checking out and was not anywhere near the experience of the evening before which was exceptional. Staff very friendly and helpful nothing too much trouble All in all great experience and would like to go again without a doubt for food and hopefully another stopover.

I stayed here after working late and that this hotel is far and above 4 stars. Location is beautiful kent countryside. Great old pub with excellent food. The owner has a wonderful champagne collection and a outside wine knowledge. The rooms are named after types of champagne. They are all individual with style. I stayed in the pommery suite. This was a man size room with mucho browns but tastefully done. Robes walk in shower. Double bath tub. Sky TV, I could go on. My view is if you stay in kent and don't stay here your a fool.

myself and my partner stayed here off the cuff this week, what can i say, amazing experiance, lovely warm welcome from joe, his staff and his lovely mum, nothing was too much trouble for them, we stayed in the roederer cristal suite, it was faultless we even ended up staying one more night i as an insomniac dont sleep well at all, i certainly did the two nights we stayed here, we also ate here one evening, the steak was cooked to perfection and the full english was cooked beautifully the following morning, we will almost certainly be returning to this little gem in the near future

What more could you ask for, stayed in bar all day and felt so special, had dinner, best meal I've ever had the level of skill involved in all aspects was outstanding for the area. Would expect this level of service in London and beyond can't wait to try Dom Ruinart

I stayed here for one night as it was handy for a client visit the next day. On arrival I was quite impressed by the standard of the bedroom as it seemed to be well appointed however looks can be deceptive. The bed was uncomfortable and upon close inspection there were some dubious looking stains on the linen. Worse still the level of sound insulation was so poor that you could clearly hear the traffic noise from the adjacent road. As I am a light sleeper I spent most of the night listening to the noise vehicles driving up and down the road. In the morning I was not in a hurry which is a good thing as the chef does not turn up to prepare breakfast until quarter to ten!

Room Tip: As far away from the road as possible

We visited here today just off the cuff, needed to get out before a hectic family meal, we have stayed here on a couple of occasions (once our wedding night) and have visited on many a sunday lunchtime - for one reason or another we have not been here for a while hence the reason for visiting today, and we were not disappointed. We did not want a big meal but the staff were happy to arrange a snack that was 'off menu' which we were very grateful for - this was washed down with a nice glass (or three) of champagne and we will definitely be back again - for a long weekend next time :o)
