“Great place to stay while in Girne”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

This cozy boutique hotel is located in a great mountainous area with an amazing view of the sea. The staff is friendly and the room was spacious and clean. I particularly liked the posh decor. Although a little far away from the sea there are plenty of options for getting to the beach. The hotel has a nice pool and mini golf course, but I'm not a pool person.

What a wonderful name for a hotel with the view of the roof of a sports stadium.

I must confess that is not what I had in mind.

I was expecting a view over Kyrenia and out to sea and not a Sports Stadium roof.

Unfortunately this was the view from our ground floor bedroom. We had requested an upper floor on making our booking but were told that this could not be guaranteed. It would have been nice if they told us that the ground floor rooms did not have a view!!

Our bedroom was quite small but adequate and had a small balcony with a table and two chairs. The room was very clean

The outside pool area was furnished with very modern looking patio furniture. The Pool was spotless. There were plenty of sun-beds. There was no “bagging the best sun bed at dawn” which was nice for a change.

Most of the guests seemed to be retired and British many of whom were returnees.

Breakfast was cooked to order but the portions were quite small.

We dined at the Hotel on our first evening but we were not impressed – a pretty bland set meal. There are many restaurants up the hill near Bellapais Abbey which offer very good value for money and some will even pick you up ( to save you walking up the steep hill)

I should like to mention was one member of staff who I would want to single out for special mention because he was more than overzealous. He was adamant that I had not paid for a bottle of water the day before while I was not actually at the Hotel. I explained that I was not there at the time. The member of staff would not take “No” for an answer. He clearly was determined that I should pay. There was no question of the staff member making what seemed to me to be a genuine mistake. I was obliged to pay, like it or not. This did rather leave a bad taste in my mouth. No pun intended.

A good free wi fi connection

I would be happy to stay there again if I could be guaranteed an upper room with a view.

Room Tip: Choose a bedroom on the first floor if you want a view

I completely agree with all the previous reviews. Our flight was delayed and we didn't arrive until 11pm, hot tired and nearly fainting with hunger. We had a lovely welcome from all the staff , especially the manager, and when we explained that we just needed to eat , he organised a meal immediatly even though the kitchen was closed. He even organised free drinks for us to keep us going. The food was beautiful. This hotel is a little gem, don't hesitate to go.The room was lovely, confortable, spotlessly clean with a great bathroom. No complaints at all .It must be the best customer care i have ever received

The Bella View is a beautiful hotel. The staff, accommodation, food and service were brilliant. Breakfast is cooked to order and the dinners that we had were perfect (particularly the chicken curry). The pool area cannot be faulted and you can stay there all day being waited on!! The staff cannot do more for you and are good fun to be with. Our bedroom was kept very clean and the bed was changed every other day.

We hired a car through the travel company (Green Island Holidays) which cost £69 for three days (minimum hire). This included fully comprehensive insurance and cover for any minor damage. There are restaurants about a 20 minute walk away but a couple of them will pick you up and drop you back to the hotel free of charge if you ask when booking your table. If you go down to the Kyrenia harbour area a taxi cost us 13 Turkish Lira (about £5.00). There is the shuttle bus that goes from the hotel at 11.00 a.m. and picks you back up at 5.00 p.m.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough and we will certainly be returning next year.

Room Tip: All the rooms appeared to be very good. I think the best are the ones that overlook the pool.

Quite simply, the best holiday hotel we have ever stayed at. We found this happy, friendly little hotel after suffering a nightmare hotel in the same area. We were looking for alternatives, as we love the area and people.

The hotel and staff are helpful and friendly. The food and ambiance is great. And there are no children to spoil the holiday - Bliss.

We have now stayed there 4 times and will be returning in September. A big open thank you to Suleiman, Emrah and the team. Long may you continue

Room Tip: They are all good

Last summer we were looking around Northern Cyprus trying to find a good hotel and were recommended the Bella View so we went to look. “Move in here,” said Emrah” you will be very happy.” So we did - and we were!

We have now spent another holiday at the Bella View and it was superb once more. This time the climate in May was more manageable than the heat of last July so we could hire a jeep and enjoyed three amazing days touring around visiting the Karpaz peninsular, visiting the old city in Famagusta and even attending the green eco festival at Buyukkonuk in the presence of the President and Prime Minister of Northern Cyprus. With the Bellaview being set in a quiet location near Bellapais village the jeep paid for itself in avoiding return taxi fares into Kyrenia in the evenings too.

However with touring and sightseeing done the real luxury was simply relaxing in the gardens for a few days. The Bella View is a superb boutique hotel wonderfully furnished and decorated with quality antiques giving almost the feel of an elegant French Chateau and yet it is small enough for faultless personal attention from the all the staff.

Comfy sun beds, swimming pool and even min-golf together with sunshine and tranquillity made for a fine end to a truly enjoyable visit. We hope to be able to go back again soon.

Despite many misconceptions Northern Cyprus is very easy to access: book through Direct Traveller, fly Monarch to Larnaca, and from there private transfer (with the driver handling the border formalities) in little over an hour – easy.

A lovely small hotel with only 21 rooms, situated down hill from the village of Bellapais on the Kyrenia road. The staff are welcoming and friendly and have all the time for their guests. The service was excellent and the room was comfortable with air conditioning (we even used it during the night as it was really for the time of year) television, safe, hair dryer. The pool was a reasonable size for such a small hotel, and had a eco friendly chlorine free filter. There was a good choice of hot and cold breakfast and we were asked every day if we would like hot food as this was freshly cooked for to order! Great. It took only 6 minutes by car to get to the harbour where there were plentiful restaurants, although we did use Trip Adviser to source others in the area. It was a wonderfully quiet, peaceful holiday on an island where the locals are so friendly. It's a must to get away from it all on a real budget.

Room Tip: all rooms have either pool or mountain view - your choice
