What a wonderful name for a hotel with the view of the roof of a sports stadium.
I must confess that is not what I had in mind.
I was expecting a view over Kyrenia and out to sea and not a Sports Stadium roof.
Unfortunately this was the view from our ground floor bedroom. We had requested an upper floor on making our booking but were told that this could not be guaranteed. It would have been nice if they told us that the ground floor rooms did not have a view!!
Our bedroom was quite small but adequate and had a small balcony with a table and two chairs. The room was very clean
The outside pool area was furnished with very modern looking patio furniture. The Pool was spotless. There were plenty of sun-beds. There was no “bagging the best sun bed at dawn” which was nice for a change.
Most of the guests seemed to be retired and British many of whom were returnees.
Breakfast was cooked to order but the portions were quite small.
We dined at the Hotel on our first evening but we were not impressed – a pretty bland set meal. There are many restaurants up the hill near Bellapais Abbey which offer very good value for money and some will even pick you up ( to save you walking up the steep hill)
I should like to mention was one member of staff who I would want to single out for special mention because he was more than overzealous. He was adamant that I had not paid for a bottle of water the day before while I was not actually at the Hotel. I explained that I was not there at the time. The member of staff would not take “No” for an answer. He clearly was determined that I should pay. There was no question of the staff member making what seemed to me to be a genuine mistake. I was obliged to pay, like it or not. This did rather leave a bad taste in my mouth. No pun intended.
A good free wi fi connection
I would be happy to stay there again if I could be guaranteed an upper room with a view.
