We stayed here on 16th March and we enjoyed a most relaxing evening. As in previous posts there is an up-grading going on but this didn't affect us on weekend. The room was fine but the high spot was the breakfast - the fry was piping hot and was really enjoyed!

stayed recently at this hotel, staff friendly and helpful.... hotel rooms were getting refurbished so a bit noisy in the eve and in the morn, corridors a bit of a mess and outside our door emergency exit was full of workmen's tools and laundry! our room was old fashioned but clean and tidy.... my husband was looking forward to the normal ulster fry we have always got in other hotels.... on the first morning we were offered Eggs with toast, (scrammbled, boiled, fried etc),eggs that was it....WE didnt bother going for breakfast the 2nd morning? Ended up with a sandwich out of a garage on the way home..... Hopefully the new manager will look into this.... Sorry for this review but i feel that this is what Trip Advisor is for.

Stayed here recently as we were having our Christmas staff do there. Had a 3 course Christmas dinner and all 3 courses were delicious. I left 3 clean empty plates. The room I stayed in was small, yes, but clean and bed was comfortable. All I ask for when all you really need the room for is sleeping in. Have read other reviews of people saying about traffic noise, but I certainly didn't notice any and had a good nights sleep. Staff were friendly and always nearby incase we needed anything. Would recommend to anyone, and would use again if ever staying in the area.

I spent a night in the hotel this december and I have to say I really enjoyed myself. I had a great meal and enjoyed some drinks before spending the night.

Overall the hotel was really nice. The staff were very helpful and always had a smile. The food was really nice (both the evening meal and the fry the next morning). I would have no complaints about the rooms, not 5 star quality but the kind of room you would expect from a hotel like this one. Not overly large but very comfortable and clean.

I would stay here again and from talking to the owner over some drinks it sounds like when I do return the place will have seen some further changes and I will have an even better stay.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The Lough Erne townhouse hotel is a little locally run 16 bedroom building with a small but key staff who deal with our guests on a daily level, providing a more personal service that certain guests love time and time again. The Hotel is situated in the heart of Fermanagh's lakeland on the banks of the Glendurragh River 1 mile from Lough Erne itself, a warm and friendly welcome awaits you on your arrival at the Lough Erne Hotel. Our Riverside lounge and Bridgewater restaurant offers an excellent choice of menu. Regular entertainment, weekend and midweek breaks throughout the year. The Lough Erne Hotel began life as a Royal Irish Constabulary barrack in 1862. It was built by the governors of the Vaughan Charity who then owned the village of Kesh. The building cost £650 and the police paid £30 per year for rent. A year after the barrack was built it was burnt down in an accidental fire. Some repairs were done immediately but further work was carried out in 1921. For example stabling for horses that was provided behind the hotel in what is now the Glendurragh Suite. One of the RIC officers stationed in Kesh, Constable McCormick, was a very famous boxer. In fact he once fought the British Heavyweight Champion, Billy Wells. Another local man, Bob Irwin, was also a famous boxer in those days, once beating the Welterweight champion of the Rhine Army. ... more   less
