“nice from the outside, big delusion inside”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2013

OK, the effort they made in building up this attraction has been huge.. but what a waste!
We found it very tacky; despite some of the content was good value the layout, lights, noises made it terrible.

The view from the terrace was impressive, and quite interesting the first floor with some original furniture; however 8€ each to walk through a corridor with yellow light to represent the sun, one dark one with a moon on the ceiling, a long corridor with some adam&eve features and water cascade... well a waste of money and 20 minutes.

There is 5000 years of history behind the wine they could have appraised better, a more informative educational way than this tacky exhibition.
It's a shame because the content is there, there is a big room with the full history from dark ages to modern days but the noises, dark lights, boring layout make you run out fast.

“Avoid unless Inoteca is open”

This museum ranks as the worst amature effort I've seen in decades. Rather silly displays, particularily on the third floor.

“Absolutely terrible waste of 16 euros!!”

Very strange place with dark passageways. And strange graphic exhibits. Didn't like it at all only there for15 minutes !!' Best bit is the view of the castle from afar!!!

“Not a visit to Barolo without this place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

This is situated in the center of Barolo in a castle on a hill. Bring a good camera to manage lighting because it's almost impossible to photograph the exquisite mountainside vineyards in the constant overcast from the castle. There is a beautiful great hall with arched ceilings and great installations. Then go for a walk and taste wine and the many small shops, restaurants and bakeries.

“Quirky, interesting with a nice tasting at the end”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2013

Situated in the castle in the centre of town, just a short stroll from parking areas just on the edge of Barolo. Its informative and sometimes unusual displays are very interesting. There's some interactive items that will amuse the kids. The tour costs 8 Euro per adult and starts on the third floor and proceeds down. There is a lift (it was not working when we were there). The tour
ends in a large display area that offers tastings of good local wines that you may not get the chance to otherwise try. We had 3 x 2007 wines for 5 Eruo.
