5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2014

Me & my hubby had an excellent time in this resort, everything was the best. Except no varities in breakfast menu. They should provide 2 water bottoles in the room everyday and a must bathroom inside. We cant able to take shower at nite as shower was outside.
Thanks mr. kamal. Thanks for ur help. And gayal and chotu thanks...kuwara thank u for ur chatting with me. Thanks for showing us middle of the nite the baby turtles release in to the ocean.very interesting.
Cute and most romantic feature i felt...every evening house keeping dept made our bed and decorate with flowers..really awesome.
So many bugs bite i had...first i thought simple masquitto bites..but its not..my request to the management pls inform to the tourists abt it in ur services section.as we can bring medication.
Over all bottom line. ?It was our most romantic trip ever.
Thank u mandara and awesome ppl.

We spent 5 days here as part of our honeymoon. We were very fortunate in that the hotel was empty for the majority of that and we enjoyed the pool, the grounds and an army of dedicated/hospitable staff all to ourselves.

Pros
Great room - we opted for jacuzzi room. The room was huge, big central balcony looking out to see and wonderful jacuzzi that was filled for us each afternoon by housekeeping.
Pool
Location - very peaceful spot away from other hotels on virtually a private beach
Staff - always super helpful, on hand without being invasive
Close enough to Merissa that you can find other eating options and nightlife if required

Cons
The restaurant lacks atmosphere so we went out to Merissa most nights. However food and service were very gd and reasonably priced.

That's it really - thank you!

Room Tip: If you have a sea vie balcony request that it's in the cetre of the building. The first room we...

Lovely hotel and pool. Staff are quite attentive but insist on getting you to sign a bill for every drink and can't cope when it's busy. What a nightmare checkout was! It took over an hour for them to sort out a bill. This turned out to be wrong and they hadn't billed us for 2 rounds of drinks. They then hounded us at the next hotel for payment of this, despite the fact that it was their error for not requesting payment in the first place. The management need to seriously consider investing in a more robust accounting and billing system, given the size of the hotel.

Hotel is located far from Mirissa and you can reach little by foot. The hotel has direct access to the beach where you can swim at your own risk. It’s a lovely stretch to go for a stroll at sunset.
The room was big and clean. The hotel can do with some updating.
The pool was lovely and warm.
The restaurant did not look great but food was impressive. The dinner was set menu with choices of starters, mains and deserts. The quality was good and service was excellent. The hotel obviously took on board the negative comments they have received from previous guests. If staff did not understood our request they would send someone who did. During dinner we had lovely trio of local musicians playing Sri Lankan and International music. It was lovely to fall asleep to the sounds of the waves.
Hotel prepared packed lunch for our early departure which was good.

2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2014 via mobile

We just stayed for one night at the end of a tour of Sri Lanka. Throughout the tour we had experienced rather tired hotels with wonderful staff and excellent food, so to be met with this hotel at first sight exhilarated us, as the reception and room were initially excellent. However this changed quickly, as the hotel had VERY unsatisfactory accommodation for our driver who was forced to find a room elsewhere. Then on further examination, we found that the room although appearing excellent, was quite unsafe in one respect. There were steps in the room which were covered with the same plaster design as the floor and walls, so consequently did not show as steps in half light, which could be dangerous.
The room had a plunge pool which was quite pleasant, but the downside to that was that the open air shower was overlooked by the neighbouring rooms.
The bar and restaurant were also a great disappointment. We ordered drinks, we're eventually served although the waiter was not an English speaker and the order was only partially correct.
We entered the restaurant and asked a waiter if we could eat outside as some others were doing. He asked the restaurant manager who apparently refused the request without even having the common courtesy to turn round to us. We then received the menu and were absolutely flabbergasted that there was nothing remotely Sri Lankan on the menu. We ordered and then the restaurant manager came over to ask us if everything was OK. We commented that it was a pity that there was nothing local available, to which he replied that it would take too long for Sri Lankan food to be prepared? When the food arrived it was nouveau cuisine, looked very nice but was a rather pathetic offering. We were then presented with our bill, which was incorrect and full of deletions etc. We asked for it to be corrected and were told that it would be correct when we checked out the next morning, but it was not corrected at all. We were charged for drinks not asked for nor consumed mainly due to the waiters lack of English! and the Restaurant managers idleness, incompetence or dishonesty.
All in all we were very disappointed in this hotel

We stayed at the resort for 6 nights in January. The location is great and the people are very nice BUT management is completely incompetent. The waiters (besides one) speak so poorly English that they could not get the orders right and they where extremely slow – with everything. It should however be mentioned that the kitchen is really good but you just get so irritated by the lack of communication and your lunch, dinner and drinks take an hour and a half to come. Finally the pool area gets overtaken by craws (yep – craws ), which kind of ruins the experience.

Room Tip: The plunch pool rooms are good.

This is a small hotel and excellent for relaxation. The service is excellent and the attentiveness shown to us was second to none. Although from the UK I don't like European food and prefer spicy food. My heart sank when I saw the menu on the first night - it was European. However, I spoke with the Restaurant Manager and he said he would look into it. The chef came personally and asked what I would prefer. After that I was treated to excellent food at every meal I had. The restaurant manager was excellent throughout and his staff did their utmost to please. Some were training and made minor mistakes but we all have to learn. The hotel manager spoke with us regularly and ensured our stay was up to their standard. All the staff were very attentive. A minor irritation was the fact that there was no WiFi in the room but it was available by the pool and in reception. We will definitely return.

Room Tip: We had a superior room with plunge pool - excellent
