“Consistently heavenly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2007

Love the practical convenience and luxury of this oasis by the sea. Stayed a for a weekend in July. Weather was wet but had some sunshine so it was perfect.
The resort 'villas' are fully equipt for a short or long stay - with washing machines, dryers, pots& pans and even coffee plungers. You really do not need to take anything at all!
Dined in the Bar for the first time, it was a little average for the price but a great casual alternative to the restaraunt or cooking local produce back in the room.
They are currently offering 50%off rack rate if you have stayed with them before (till August).
A great little get away - we try to do it was often as we can!

  • Liked — luxurious touches, self contained rooms, close to great Cape Naturalist bush trek and views.
  • Disliked — nothing at all.

We had two nights at this amazing spa and resort. The views were great from our room. Although not unobstructed, the construction is such that you can see the sea from your villa. And ocean access is an easy stroll. Beautiful, quiet beach.

We stayed in a studio. Very chic. The bathroom was amazing, although the tub is not as deep as you would guess from the photos. Still...lovely. And what a great shower. The bath products were all spa quality.

The restaurant served excellent food. We were there during winter, so reservations weren't a problem as indicated by previous guests.

The only negative is the A$30/day internet charge. Ridiculously overpriced.

These are "self-contained" units with small kitchen at your disposal. Dishes / dish soap/ towels provided, along with tea and coffee... and the requisite mini-bar with full bottles of wine. Room is made up daily.

As usual in Australia, the beds could be more comfortable. But they were the best we had on this trip.

A last minute booking. Unsure as the photos on hotel site were pretty plain. But it is superb. And the beach is amazing. The whale watching from the restaurant memorable. The staff friendly and a good mix. The food good etc. Service was patchy - great to lacklustre. Storm threw out power - meant no phones, so how to call room service? No heating either (fortunately not too cool) and other related issues because of the lightning strike. Took quite a few requests to get it looked in to - everyone was oh so busy and we seem quite far down on the queue. Very strange. As was the fact that they didn't offer any compromise deal - no chocolate on the pillow to say "we are thinking of you and apologise".

Still, if you got it you go it. Like Marilyn Monroe or Boris Yeltsin - major flaws are overlooked. Loved the location. Loved the hotel. Loved almost everything. Not cheap, but when you are there you feel it is worth the price. It feels a bit too family and too convention-like at times (which I guess is their bread and butter), even that didn't put us off.

Must say I was a little peeved that they kept telling us to book dinner, what's the deal? Then I read others who couldn't get in, so at least they do ask now.

A late post, but as we used here to find it, thought would come back. Previously had a very high rating, and definitely deserves it. Stayed in lots of five star establishments in Asia, this rates up near the top overall, despite significant flaws.
