We went to the resort with family and friends to celebrate a milestone birthday. Great resort, friendly staff, good facilities and walk straight onto the beach. Would go back there for a long weekend again as the road trip from Perth is a very easy 3-hours away.

Had a wonderful relaxing stay at the resort over 3 nights. Enjoyed the convenience of being close to the wine region in Margaret River and then to come back to the calming walks along the beach. The thing that soured it a little was the service in the bar being a somewhat lacklustre experience. First night was good as the bar was quite empty however with the advent of the weekend things were a little less enjoyable to the extent that we decided not to come back for the same the following night. We paid over the top pricing for a burger that upon reflection was missing some things that were mentioned on the menu as being included. Had breakfast on the Sunday morning and whilst the restaurant was not full it was busy, the down side seemed to be that there was no one making sure things were running smoothly. I had to ask a second time for a pot of coffee, I ordered poached eggs that took close to 20 minutes and only came out after I enquired about them. We were then presented with 2 orders where I had only requested a single serve. The buffet breakfast as presented was very nice.
On the other issue about service our rooms was not that well serviced, bed poorly made. We did think the staff very pleasant and helpful they just didn't get the little things that can make this place a truly great stay and differentiate it from the rest.

Room Tip: Try the self contained Villa overlooking the lake very relaxing. The poor service rating is in relat...

Two nights in a one bedroom lake view. There are no rooms on the beach. It is a "car-free" resort. Was a little wary because of some of the mixed reviews on here.

Reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. Had some issues with the key, when we returned to the front desk to have it fixed she offered to run us down in a buggy back to our room. The room was amazing. Excellent kitchen, big open living space, very comfortable bed and an enormous bathroom with excellent bath.

While some may not like the location due to its isolation, this is the resorts best feature if you ask me. The resort is on a lovely beach, it is exceptionally quiet, rooms nestle amongst the bush with the amazing sights and smells and the stars are amazing. Dunsborough is a short trip up the road with a few restaurants and Coles. Most wineries and foodie stops are between the resort and Margaret river, so it's a great day's drive.

The restaurant and bar are in a great spot, especially for breakfast. Entres at dinner were average but mains were great. It's good value if you have an advantage plus card, but not if you don't. The breakfast buffet is one of the best hotel buffets I've had.

There were other great facilities too that we didn't use - the pool, gym and BBQ for example, and loan items for the beach. We didn't have a frypan in our room, but when we asked for one it was promptly brought down.

Overall, this was a top notch resort in every aspect, but the restaurant could do with a little work. I can't wait to head back.

One of the better hotels we have stayed at and we've stayed at many. We had a one bedroom lake view apartment which was very comfortable and spacious with a lovely bath and living space. Staff were very helpful and attentive throughout. I would caution that we utilized a special offseason rate so not sure about the in season value for money. Beautiful setting but if you're going for wine tastings its worth knowing that you're not really in the middle of the vineyards.

We had a wonderful, relaxing time. Loved the self contained apartment as this made travelling with small children easy and affordable.
My only disappointment was the daily room service. Floors were not swept, vacuumed or mopped. I found myslef sweeping everyday which is not something I planned to do on holiday.
Apart from that, service and staff were fabulous as were activities for the children both within the resort and nearby.
