“A refreshing change!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2014

A curry house is a curry house usually - not here. This is a great little place with friendly staff and a great chef. You are not presented with hundreds of curries on the menu, just a manageable choice each of which is made fresh per dish (not one pot for all curries). No colourings are used, and we actually saw our nan bread being rolled out in the kitchen (i.e. not pre-made or frozen and retrieved on demand). Delicious meal, very reasonable price. Definitely will return and definitely recommend you try.

“Great food,great service”

Excellent restaurant with friendly staff. Food is brilliant and different curries compared to the usual indian restaurants. The lamb and fish dishes are weel worth a try. Delicious!

“Quality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2014

Never heard of this restaurant before as last time I walked past it was a poor Italian, was invited last minute by brother in law and it was a real eye opener, best Indian in Stalybridge by a long way. Only problem I could see is it is too small for a quality restaurant, they had too turn away a number of potential customers who turned up without booking. The food was fresh the spice in my Chicken Madras was just right everyone else in the group was more than happy and the staff were very helpful and attentive. I will be returning and it will not be before long.

“Fantastic meal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2014 via mobile

Just got home from this amazing restaurant, food beautifully cooked and presented, the Nepalese influence makes it really specially, lots of different flavours, brilliant for vegetarians too, lots of fresh fish dishes. Very good value for money, Gurkha Spice deserves to do very well

“Just gets better and better”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2014

Just spent a week in Dubai and couldnt wait to get home to go here for a meal, chutney etc gorgeous, mixed grill superb, salmon to die for, Punjabi salad - dream about it - and although they didnt have any herbal tea, they made me fresh ginger and lemon tea - absolutely gorgeous, not many restaurants would do this - seems to get better every time we go
