Came for a quick drink here with some friends as we were staying near by. Managed to get a cancellation for Sunday lunch and we were happy with the results.
Booked for seven and were told we would be sat in the restaurant. When we arrived they had given our table to another party and we were seated in the bar. Not a big issue but did make our party feel a little bit relegated.
Food took an inordinately long time to arrive but the delay was handled well by the very friendly staff. We were offered a free round of drinks as way of apology which was gratefully received. We were more than happy to sit and wait in such lovely surroundings.
The starters were fantastic. Simple but very tasty.
The Sunday lunch was good. Very tasty but we had had the rare beef bigged up to us so much by the staff that when it came and it wasn't pink we were all a touch let down. But! It did taste lovely.
All finished off with lovely puddings.
Good value for Sunday lunch and I'd like to try the place out for dinner sometime.
