“Elegant & Stunning”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2012

Vellianitatika Retreat is hands down the best place to stay in Paxos. Not only is the retreat beautiful, peaceful and stunning, Keith & Pam who run the retreat take "Philoxenia" to a completely different level. Their attention to detail is extraordinary. They have a unique way of helping you wind down and relax and you actually feel that you are part of the island. We also had the opportunity to have their son Adam actually take us on a private day boat trip around all of Paxos and Antipaxos which we will never forget. One of the nicest and most hospitable people we have ever met.
Vellianitatika Retreat isnt like your typical Hotel or Pension. There is none of the standard "Breakfast is served between..... and please leave your room key with reception". Eveything seems to run at your pace. Pam's beautiful Greek yoghurt with honey and fresh fruit to Keith's perfectly poached eggs on toast are a must. And all this served in their beautiful outdoor setting amongst the georgeous Greek Sun, Olive trees and swimming pool.
Vellianitatika Retreat is also located very close to the port of Gaios hosting some amazing restaurants from traditional home-style country dishes through to restaurants with more modern twists on traditional dishes. Keith & Pam are there also to advise you on the best places to visit.
We recommend Vellianitatika Retreat whole heartedly as the best place to stay at in Paxos. You wont be disappointed.

Lots of love to Pam, Keith and Adam. Thank you very much for eveything. We cant wait to come back.

Love from Maria, Theo and Dimitrios

We had a lovely stay at this amazing retreat in the wonderful island of Paxos!

We could not have asked for more! The beautiful house, the amazing breakfast, the comfortable and gorgeous rooms, the lovely little plunge pool, the complimentary prosecco.. you name it! AND the best hosts!!!! -
So helpful, attentive yet always giving you privacy. We are already dreaming about our next visit!

It's a beautiful dream. All is perfect, the food, the rooms, the garden and the most important Keith and Pam. They are so friendly, happy and quiet. The rooms are very clean and the decoration is so british, it's pretty. In each room, there is coffee, tee, water, chips and cookies and it's free. The breakfast is excellent, fresh orange juice, bread, fruits, ... and many things, all you want. We come back the next year with our 2 children (very appreciated). The best holiday that we pass.

I think Nic and I were excited about our return trip the moment we left the first time!! This year we returned to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary, having been on honeymoon there the year before.

They had made some small changes to the place but it keeps its charm and character and it felt like coming home!! Pam, Keith and Adam remain as wonderful as does the Island which we can only describe as 'magic'

This year we spent most days on the same beach and had a very relaxing time, but there remain new restaurants to try and coves to seek out on our next trip which we have booked for 2013 already.

Can't really say enough good things about the warmth of this family and the service and holiday they can offer you! and can't wait to go back again!!

Emily & Nic

Room Tip: They only have 2! and they are both lovely....

I'm not sure how to put into words how fantastic this retreat on Paxos is. My husband treated me to 3 nights here at the end of our honeymoon as a total surprise and we could not have hoped for a more perfect stay. Set off the beaten track amongst the olive groves, lies this incredible oasis of calm. The amount of thought that has gone in to developing the property and in the furnishings are simply incredible, our bed had petals strewn over it, there is a tree with heart shaped stones pushed into the spaces in the bark (from previous happy guests!), love hearts were pushed into the breakfast nutella, fresh croissants at breakfast and homemade lemon drizzle cake to name just a few. Pam and Keith are absolute legends, we could have spent the whole holiday quite happily nattering away to them! Nothing was too much trouble for them and they couldn't have been better hosts. We hired a scooter for our time there and had such fun pottering between the various beaches and stunning villages and bars that Pam and Keith had recommended. We could have stayed for ever and will definitely be back. However, from reading others comments in their guest book, we aren't the only ones - book up this place while you can before they end up with a 2 year waiting list!!

If anyone wants to know how it should be done, look no further. A truly stunning renovation of a traditional village house turned into a luxury boutique hotel of the highest quality is one part. The other and in many ways more difficult to achieve, is to run it so that guests feel very special, pampered and nothing is too much trouble. Pam and Keith are complete naturals for this business and despite only being in their second full season already have many repeat guests and a full diary. My wife and I have travelled far and wide but have just enjoyed simply our best holiday ever at the Retreat. I cannot disagree with any of the other reviews here, so there is little point in just repeating them. Suffice to say if you are looking for the best on the island paradise that is Paxos, look no further and book early !

Room Tip: Either room is beautiful as is The Olive Press for self caterers.

My wife and I have just got back from a 2 week stay at the Vellianitatika Retreat. We had one week in the Olive Press and one week in the guest house. This is defintely one of the best places we have ever stayed in. The accomodation is beautiful, but its really Pam, Keith and Adam, the family who run it, that make the difference. Nothing is too much trouble for them and the breakfasts in the guest house are absolutely lovely! I would highly recommend this place and, of course, Paxos itself is a lovely island. We'll be back!
