“Clean, modern, but small.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2013 via mobile

Very clean and tidy, bit of an odd layout and quite small for the price. We had a two bedroom unit on the top floor, thought all the units had a balcony (perhaps i misread that somewhere), but ours didn't. Well appointed room with quality appliances. Bathroom is very small, but, has everything you would need. We could have done with a few extra towels and shampoo/conditioner/bodywash. Only had 3 towels and one each of s, c & bw for two adults and two children. There are two armchairs and one 2 seater in the lounge, quite small and not the most comfy, but, there is limited space so they've done well finding something to suit the style and the space restriction. Sky box also in the lounge, just sat behind the wallhung tv.. makes it hard to click channels but friendly host did explain this to us. Small wallhung tv in main bedroom, could have one in second bedroom (which is actually bigger). I love the green and bathroom doors in this unit. A few little maintenance issues, down light in main bdrm not working and side table draw knob loose. Rubbish bin looked like it had been kicked in. Quiet location and close to hospital, supermarket, petrol station and restaurants.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013 via mobile

3 of us stayed at the motel in May 2013. 2 of us had travelled to Lower Hutt from the UK and 1 from another part of NZ, in order to visit family who live in the area. We originally booked a studio room but with the additional guest needed a 2 bedroom which the motel changed for us no problem. The check-in process was quick and easy and the motel room we had was like an apartment. It was very clean and tidy and still looked extremely new, with everything we needed for our stay. There was parking available and we didn't have a problem finding a space each night. It was well priced and we would be happy to recommend this to family and friends should they visit the area. Thank you Boulcott Lodge for the comfortable stay!

We were a bit worried about the road noise, but no problems what so ever. We booked a Studio Lite unit, it was a smallish unit, but we knew that from reading their website and we were only there to wind down and sleep for the 2 nights we were there and it was idea for that. Lovely furnishings, very clean. Would be happy to stay again.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2013

We were expecting to have a nice hotel, but Boulcott was a motel without any restaurant. Room was very small and without any view as there was high concrete wall on the small balcony. Air conditioning was blowing directly to bed, had to close it. Owners were very friendly and made a good breakfast, which made our two nights' stay a bit more comfortable.

I was on business in Wellington. The reception area of the hotel was very welcoming - clean lines and chic. There was a little confusion over what name was room was booked under, but the reservation was in their system. A gentleman offered me a small glass bottle of milk for my tea and brought me to my room. The room was large and on the ground floor.
Walk in to a kitchenette - very smart and then the bed was around the corner - really lush. Bathroom was large - accessible by wheelchair, if required. I could have stayed for days.
There even was an outdoor space, yet enclosed.
I would stay again.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013

We stayed here over a 3 day weekend to attend a wedding. The property was easy to find and set it off the street to give some relief from the busy road out front. Off road parking was also available. The Staff Member who greeted us and booked us in was Brian, who was very informative and friendly for the entire stay. The room offered cable TV, free wireless for multiple devices, a small kitchenette and a very comfortable bed. Locality is good to the shops and Hospital and I would recommend venturing into Petone to check out the bars and cafes there for meals and ambience. At $145 / night it was incredibly good value and we would definately stay again.

Room Tip: For those who do not want to struggle with suitcases up stairs ask for a lower room.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

We had the two apartment suite for the four of us - the amenities were clean, comfortable and the location of the accommodation was convenient. We drove a couple of blocks to the Waterloo station and caught the train into Wellington with a return fare thus avoiding heavy early and late Wellington traffic. The location was also handy for catching the Interislander too. The staff were very friendly and helpful as well as the cleaning staff who provided us with good service and advice. The only 'down side' to the stay was that we had to pay $3 for the use of the washing machine (twice) and the dryer (twice) - no where else on our trip around New Zealand did we have to pay $12 to do our laundry.
