“Excellent Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013

Returned from our 5th stay at this beautiful top class Hotel.
We have always received first class treatment. The rooms are spacious, the food excellent and the staff are most welcoming - special thanks to Simon & Libby.

Lovely setting but let down by the little things ie service.
Reception area is badly laid out and gets crowded at busy times which prevents others from passing through.
Food is ok if this were a 3 star hotel; breakfast buffet food was less than warm. I've seen better selection at 2-3 star hotels. It was difficult to get the attention of the waiting staff, but the bar staff were most helpful and attentive.
Bedrooms are dark and not that spacious - they look very grand on their website but they are not. No airconditioning and small windows meant it was very stuffy during the night.
No trouser press.
I was struggling to get to my room laden with bags etc, when I asked a male member of the cleaning team where my room was he just pointed then watched me struggle with my bags through double doors and negotiate 3 extra steps.
Car parking is a nightmare if there are golfers around - not enough spaces and quite far from the main building. Risk of being hit by golf buggies.
The spa people were are lovely and should not be rated alongside the hotel as they would have got more stars.
There are far better SPA hotels in Cheshire and the rest of the UK.

Returned from an amazing weekend stay at Mottram Hall, where do I start? From the fantastic newly renovated hotel to the fantastic genuinely friendly staff, which is better? It is not often you get both, but at Mottram that is what you can expect.
The renovation is truly outstanding, the thermal village couldn't be better, please if you want to take a loved one for a special time this Hotel is the place to go, having said that though it was family friendly and very keen with the golfers. A complete package I have to say, tailored to fit all walks of life. The restaurant was gorgeous staff again couldn't be faulted along with the beautiful tasting food, thank you Chef! What an amazing experience please check this Hotel out soon. The Suite we had been booked into was lovely, perfect views of the golf course and the facilities outstanding, luxury bath robes & slippers and such a comfy bed!
I would also like to thank personally all the staff who made our stay so lovely James the Manager, Simon & Amanda who helped book my special night. Thanks to All for making our stay out of this world and can't wait to return.

Room Tip: We had the Junior Suite above the restaurant, sorry totally forgot the name, beautiful views and gor...

The time we spent at Mottram Hall in June was more than worthy of a review on here. We came to Mottram Hall on a conference trip to hold an event with Cheshire Life. We travel to many venues around Lancashire, Cheshire and Yorkshire and this was by far the best in terms of service, food quality and facilities. The hotel itself is gorgeous, the service by Niall in particular was second to none. There was nothing he couldn't do for us. The food was exceptional (prepared by the lovely Jim who we bumped into in the corridor) and the manager , Mark was a lovely guy who helped to make the event a huge success. We would highly recommend this hotel as a venue for either business or pleasure. We certainly will be looking to come back next year for our Business Club event.

Room Tip: The Andrew Suite was a perfect conference suite. Light, great atmosphere and gorgeously decorated

Had a spa package for Father's Day for me and my husband. Had a lovely day at the spa. The massage was fabulous and lovely and clean spa. Staff were brilliant. Enjoyed having a stroll round the grounds and enjoying a cocktail in the garden in the sun.
The meal in the carrington grill was lovely and our waiter Adam was very friendly. The room had lovely decor and a large ensuite.
Our problem started at night, the room was so hot and there was a fan but that was loud so had to turn it off. There was a wedding party in which meant having the windows open was a no no as being on the ground floor we heard everyone go past and it seemed where out room was placed everybody had to go past our room to get upstairs or to the other downstairs rooms. Heard guests returning until 3.30am. There was an incident outside our room where one of the wedding guests fell over and bumped his head right outside the room. Although this was not anybody's fault it was a long time until the paramedics came and took him away at which time me and my husband were wide awake as we may aswell have been in the corridor with all the commotion and could not get back to sleep until 4.30. Then at 7 we had golfers arriving that had to drive directly past out room to get to the car park.
This was supposed to be a relaxing break with a lie in as we have a baby at home and needed a break, but ended up that we were back home at 10.00am we wish we would have gone home after the meal. When we told the reception lady in the morning she was fantastic and straight away waived our bill which was fantastic and we were impressed that she could make that on the spot decision rather than messing around with several people. I find it hard to believe that a hotel the standard of not tram hall does not have an air conditioning system.
I would stay here again though and request a higher room at the back of the hotel. The incident couldn't be helped but it did ruin our night.

The refurbishment has been undertaken with class and taste, with all the areas of the hotel seamlessly rolling from one to another with a lovely feel to the hotel as a whole.

Set in wonderful grounds surrounded by beautiful countryside i guarantee you cannot stay here and not feel privileged.

We stayed in the Reynolds Suite which was very large suite with a huge comfortable bed overlooking the grounds.

All the staff were very pleasant and accommodating and were always asking if they could do any more for you, this obvious high level of customer service added to the ambience of relaxation and making you feel very well looked after.

Our evening meal was from the A la carte menu and was an experience in fine dining from start to finish with huge compliments to the chef.

All in all we could not fault once single area of the experience (apart from not having enough time to enjoy the spa as we had to leave early the next day), we would thoroughly recommend visiting Mottram Hall and we will certainly be returning again soon.

Thanks to all the staff for their help and extra care given.

Room Tip: Reynolds suite is massive, you will feel like royalty!
