I loved the decor and style of this small boutique hotel. Someone has renovated and decorated Apokryfo beautifully. But the "suites" are in fact rooms, some of them very small, and none of the staff speak English. This is not helped by the complete lack of a resident manager.
No one answers the phones at weekends since they are routed through the owning-company's head office in Limassol which is closed at weekends. So if you lose your way en route to Apokryfo (which is very easy to do) and you call the hotel's landline or the hotel's mobile on a Saturday or Sunday for directions, no one will answer. This is what happened to me.
Beware of speaking in anything above a whisper after 10pm when dining al fresco in the hotel's restaurant, since some of the hotel's bedrooms are directly above and guests get upset about the noise.
Food very good but WAY too much
Very uncomfortable how ALL of Apokryfo's staff supervised me checking out so that I felt obliged to tip them all. Bizarre.
Would only stay at Apokryfo again if I hired the whole place, closed it to the public and had a private party there!
