We stayed at this hotel recently and to be honest it was a huge dissappointment and was hands down the worst place I ever stayed.
To say it was cold was a complete understatement, I went to bed with not one but 3 hot water bottles. I was so cold that even though I had brought a dress to wear to dinner I couldn't bring myself to change into it and instead opted to stay in my jeans and boots & heavy jacket. I also ended up wearing my jumper to bed. The dinner was very tasty but is very expensive so it would want to be. The service at dinner was poor and the girl that served our steaks had no idea which ones were rare/medium etc when she brought them to our table. The food was also slow at coming out and was on the cold side by the time it arrived. When it came to ordering desserts they had run out of two options from the menu. Again as dinner was so expensive we were disappointed that the options were not available.
Breakfast the next morning was the straw that broke the camels back. We were seated at really small coffee tables which had some kind of dirty looking cactus things in the middle. The service was appauling, there was a young girl there who clearly hadn't a clue what she was doing. There was no juice or coffee/tea poured. Unsurprisingly the breakfast room was freezing & the breakfast took forever to come out. When it arrived it was overcooked and horrible to be totally honest. Once breakfast was over we couldn't get out of there quick enough.
On a positive note, the receptionist Niamh was very nice and friendly & the person who put the website together is a genius as they made this place look far nicer than it is in reality.
I have never left a Trip Advisor comment before but felt totally compelled to this time as there are lots of lovely places in the South East and Wexford where people can go to spend their hard earned money - unfortuantely I would strongly advise against spending it at Horetown House!
