“Superb food, knowledgeable staff great atmosphere.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

Our first visit will not be our last. Great menu with lovely local and seasonal selection. Our waitress Lucy couldn't have been more helpful answering all of our questions and explaining the the various choices. A comfortable setting and reasonably priced. An absolute must!

“A PLEASENT NIGHT OUT”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2012

On our recent visit to the Gateway in Durrus West Cork there was Christmas Party night.
We were greeted by the owner and his staff with drinks and then shown to our tables which were decorated in a festive manner. The menu was nicely presented and the choice was of a seasonal nature with options. The service was good and the staff very friendly. The food was well prepared and well presented. The atmosphere of the restaurant was friendly with an eighties type disco playing in the background. On leaving the owner and his staff wished every one good night and the usual festive cheer.

“Small Village, Excellent Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2012

The upstairs restaurant is welcoming, soft lighting, welcoming service, comfortable seating. The menu is geared toward everyone's taste, whether it be seafood or beef. The chef definitely knows how to cook and serve seafood...the cod and flounder were excellent, done to perfection.
Accompanying veg and sauces were simple but 'married' to the dishes. I should say that the starters were varied and equally good, using locally produced vegetables and cheese. Service
was without fault. Highly recommended retaurant roughy seven miles from Bantry, on Dunmannus Bay. A French/Spanish flavour menu.

“interesting food at reasonable prices; good wine by the glass.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

We ate in the cafe twice at end October. Very good lunch specials at good prices...style is interesting. Between three,we had 5 different selections and enjoyed them all....seaweed ciabatta was new to us! Prices were very reasonable....a light lunch for 8 euro, sides for 2. Very nice NZ sauv blanc for 4.50 a glass.
