“Amazing wedding experience from Start to finish”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2011

We had our wedding at the station house hotel in the beginning of September. From the first time we arrived at the hotel we knew it was exactly what we wanted. The hotel is a converted train station, so quaint and cosy.
Organising our special day with Sarah was a joy. She was a pleasure to deal with and nothing was too much trouble. The staff on the day were so helpful and attentive, Derek was the manager who looked after us all day. He was a gentleman and made us feel so at ease.
The food was out of this world!!! All our guests are still raving about it!!!
All in all I can't recommend the station house enough. If you are looking for a quaint charming hotel for your wedding then this is the place for you.

3rd time here. Both family and business. Food was wonderful. Atmosphere is old world. It's an old train station. Very good bar area. They actually take your order here before you go to the table. service is good. I have not stayed at the hotel. A little out of the way.

Quaint hotel in beautifull setting. Bedrooms a little basic and in need of refurbishment.
Food excellent. Staff helpfull but should admit mistakes. Got two rooms for my wife and I and adult son. Checked out rooms and handed back the keys to reception immediately. When my son tried to bring his case to his room later, he was told that his room key wasn't handed back. Saw another couple exiting the room and my son was given another room. It would have been simpler if they had admitted to booking other couple into room in error.

Myself and my husband had our wedding reception in the Station House in July and we had a wonderful day, thanks to all of the effort and attention to detail put in by the staff. Sarah, the wedding organiser was always very helpful, professional and friendly at all times. The food is delicious, and was served hot to our 120 guests within minutes and they easily and happily catered to some special requests that we had (eg diabetic). The location is super also, some great photo opportunities in the well kept grounds. Our huge thanks to all at the Station House!

We would recommend this hotel for every occasion from a nice romantic meal to a large function. The staff are amazing they made everything so easy and nothing was to much trouble for them. It was just like having an extened family for the day. We would like to mention a few in particular Sarah, Henry, Derek, Orla. thank you for all you kindness and for making our special day even more special with your professionalism. We will be back again and again and again.

Attended a friends wedding here and was totally disappointed. Had a room in the main hotel building which was extremely small. Was being sold as a triple room. I can't imagine what it would have been like if three people were sharing. There was hardly any room to move around. The furnishings are dated including the bed clothes. The room they have for wedding ceremonies and functions is very claustrophobic. The food is nothing to write home about, I've had better from the local pub carvery. Room rates in the main hotel are more expensive than four star hotels elsewhere. Definitely not worth the money. I would never stay there again, even if attending a wedding. If you're looking for mediocre then book but if looking for a touch of class, look elsewhere because you won't find it here.

We had our ceremony at the Station House Hotel on Aug 21st 2011. From the moment we went to view the hotel we knew it would be the perfect place for our wedding. The wedding co-ordinater; Sarah, was so pleasant and professional, she helped us out so much in the months before our big day. We communicated mainly via email as i live abroad and Sarah always replied to me within a couple of days answering any questions i had and making suggestions. On the morning of the wedding the Station House Hotel arranged a mini bus which picked us up in a hotel we were staying at the night before. Our big day was everything we dreamed of. The sun was shining which meant we could have the ceremony outside at the turntable. Walking through the wooded area towards the turntable felt like something out of a fairytale. The sunlight glowing through the trees as we lit our unity candle is something i will always remember. The picturesque romantic location was the perfect setting for our wedding photos. The manager of the hotel, Henry was there to assist us and guide us through the day. His calm easy manner helped put our minds at ease. All the staff were very friendly and efficient and no request seemed to big. The food was delicious and went down a treat with all. The room where the dinner and dancing was held felt very cosy and intimate. I would highly recommend this hotel to any couples thinking of holding their wedding there. Sarah, Henry and all the staff helped make our special day a truly memorable one.
