“So fab we got interned”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2014

I am in the fortunate position of being able to take a years sabbatical next November and this trip was to research dive companies to become an instructor. Kiwidiver impressed us massively with their professionalism but were very warm and friendly. The enterprise is going places with Kevin Black's (owner) ethos. Kevin was very accommodating and spent lots of time with us whilst Vincent (head instructor) was very skilful and passionate about what he does. He took us on a beach dive which was a real eye opener in terms of what's about if you know what your looking for! To cut a long story short we have committed to a divemaster Internship with them for 3 months. We can't wait to see you chaps again soon. I would say we have dived with 50 other dive companies from around the world and this one is by far the best we've come across.

“It was good dive!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2014

Our first dive in Thailand and it was good. Not as good as Maldives but diving in Thailand is not bad. We did 3 dives in one day at Racha Yai and Racha Noi. From reception upon booking it was accommodating and friendly. Which is average. As we got spoiled in Maldives diving, we never expected that boats have too many people onboard. So many smokers during our dive day which is not good for non-smokers like me. Diving is fun. Many things to see. Vis is good. Vincent was our instructor and he is professional. Nice to dive with him. Our highlight of the day was seeing sea moth. So cool! Overall, we can recommend KiwiDiver to other tourist who would like to go for diving. Btw, food is ok onboard.

“Mangelhafte Organisation”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2014

Soweit so gut ...

Due to the positive rating here I booked a 3Dive-Day ( Koh Doc Mai, King Cruiser Wreck , Shark Point) at Kiwidiver. In the shop everyone was friendly and i had a the feeling, that i will be a great day ... But then the problems took its course.

It was arranged, that I meet my guide at 08:00 the next morning at the pier. I was assured that he wears a Kiwidivers-shirt, so that I may know him. So far so good ... The next morning I waited for my guide for almost half an hour - no one was seen in a KiwiShirt ... so I started to ask the surrounding diving schools if they know where someone from kiwidivers was ... After another 5 minutes asking around, it turned out that my guide was standing a little bit beside the trouble, wearing a completely normal (and thus no Kiwidiver-shirt) and I could not recognize him. He argued that no one should recognize that he is working on the day ... hmm... on the boat he changed his shirt ... a little bit late , right?

Okay ... then with a little delay we was on the boat ... the dives were ok ... but there was not a really good introduction .... if I dive to a wreck , I expect a briefing with a map of the wreck and detailed information , not a simple " We're going to the buoy, then down and up again and see what is going on down there " ... Well , maybe I have too high expectations here so ...

Oh and of course, he had no stamp of the divebase - I mailed the base and asked them for 3 stickers / stamps whick i can insert into my logbook ...

But the biggest point: I talked to him before the first dive, that I have unfortunately do not have an underwater camera . He told me he could take pictures and provide them to me later. I accepter the offer gladly. But at the end, he asked me for 2000THB (or was it 1000 , I am no longer sure ) (~ 50 € ) for - even poor quality, because usually missfocused images. He gave me them in the end for free, but is that fair?!

“Would highly recommend diving with Kiwidiver”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2014

My Partner, daughter and myself have just spent 3 days diving with Vincent from Kiwidiver. Apart from the fact that he was a fantastic dive guide. The whole experience with Kiwidiver was very professional and we felt we were in safe hands. From the first email to the last dive everything went smoothly. The shop and equipment was of top quality and very well maintained. Vincent had an abundance of knowledge on the local dive sites, not only did he organise some perfect sites to visit. When we got there he knew the best spots to go to, to avoid the other divers and to see the best marine life. On the boat afterwards, during surface time. We were the ones saying we had seen the most. Black tip reef sharks, turtles, pipefish, eels, bamboo shark, to name but a few.
My daughter is JOW ( junior open water ) and only 11 years old. This was no trouble for Kiwidiver they had the equipment to suit and tailored the dives that she did to her needs. I would happily recommend them to anybody.

“An amazing life changing experience!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2014 via mobile

I have always wanted to dive, but have been very apprehensive, the thought of diving was a little scary to me!! Fast forward to my first vacation After retirement, which brought me to Phuket! Diving was one of my goals, but where to start? Phuket has so many PADI dive centers, how do you choose? I met the owner of rosco's restaurant, Dave, who recommended Kiwi Divers. I contacted the owner of Kiwi Divers, Kevin Black, who went out of his way to meet me close to my Hotel, and went over the open water course, brought me the course material, and the rest is history!! Kevin set me up with my instructor Matt, from Canada!! I don't think I could have had a more patient instructor, the time he spent with me underwater while I got my composure to perform the next skill, was invaluable,it was the make or break moments!! Thanks Matt!! I was picked up and returned to my hotel every day, and if I had to go back to the dive shop, Vincent was happy to drive me back to my hotel. Vincent always had some words of wisdom on the way back that i respected, and absorbed. The dives that I did were on the Andaman, which was a very well run outfit, very professional and organized, good food, what more can I say!! I would absolutely recommend Kiwi Divers, no corners cut, patient, professional, and accommodating around your schedule.thanks, Kevin, Matt, Vincent, Nitty, you made my dive experience, an Experience beyond my expectations!!!
