“Great half day safari”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2013

A really excellent 4 - 5 hour trip. The elephants are well looked after and the organisation is well run. The guide we had (Took Took) was really friendly and funny. The extra things they show you, such as how they process coconuts, rubber tree tapping, basic Thai cooking demonstration, baby elephant show etc were really enjoyable as well. Then finished off by taking an hour ride on a junk out in the bay for lunch was great too. Definitely recommend this trip

“Elephants treated with great respect.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013 via mobile

We booked a 45 min trek through our hotel and were only expecting just that; A fun 45 min ride on an Elephant..
What we got was far better. A show with baby elephants painting, playing socker and harmonicas (they looked so happy when they were making 'music') etc. Photo opportunity with the babies as well as optional feeding which we could not pass up. (Only 50 thb!).
Our tour guide Ma was very informative on how the Mahout look after and live with the Elephants and some background stories on some of the elephants and then it was on to the trek through the jungle.

There was a professional photographer who takes a pic or two of you as well as the mahout (Elephant rider/trainer) will stop at lovely viewpoints to turn around and take photos of you with your personal camera. While on the trek we could overlook the pen where the babies were and there were no gates to keep these little guys locked in. They just seemed content with their play area.
(This was not the case further up the mountain at another place near Big Buddha where we saw a baby chained to a pole with only about 1 metre of rope on the side of the road)

These guys really seem to bond and work with their animals unlike other unsettling things seen whilst visiting Phuket. (Frantic monkeys chained, drugged slow loris and iguana being paraded on Bang La).

Definitely one of the big highlights of our holiday. Would highly recommend Siam Safari to anyone thinking of trying an elephant ride while travelling to Phuket!

“Good fun”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

Well looked after animals and friendly staff are what you will find here. Choose your trip , 30, 45, 60 mins and off you go perched on the back of one of these wonderful creatures. The trip is slow and the handler will take your photo with your camera to save you having to buy the professional one taken earlier on. After you can buy bananas to reward your transport. Good fun especially with children!

“Elephants”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

We weren't sure whether to do this trip or not - however after doing some research on the intranet we found this company ticked the 'taking care of the elephants' boxes we were looking for. We are very glad we chose well.

Siam Safari are clearly a very professional outfit and the elephants do indeed look very well cared for - particularly compared to some of the other 'elephant camps' we came across whilst driving in Phuket.

Our tour guide was a lovely lady called Sao - she clearly knew everything there is to know about elephants and she really gave us a good insight into the pressures facing Thai elephants in the wild.
