Very very nice place to stay. Quiet, calm & beautiful.

The owner is the best guide for a toscany tour !

It is very appreciated to have a place to stay not to far from the ver turistic Lucca or Firenze !

This B & B was one of our favorite stops in Italy. My boyfriend and I stayed 2 days and then came back on the end of our trip because we loved it so much! The owners Dario and Maria were very hospitable and knew everything about the area, food, and wine of Tuscany. They also helped plan our day trips in Lucca and Florence. They really made us feel like family. We will definitely be staying here again!

I had originally planned on staying in Lucca but I'm so glad I chose this B&B instead. Dario & Maria, the owners, provided such a great Tuscan experience for me. If you love your food and wine, this is a great place to stay, as Dario knows the area's food & wine with such detail, and can provide cooking classes and wine tastings on request. Nothing was ever a hassle as my comfort and enjoyment appeared to be their number one priority. Whilst it is set in the Tuscan hills outside the major Tuscan towns, the train station of Pescia is only 10 minutes away, and Dario was always willing to drive me down/pick me up, with Florence, Lucca & Pisa all within a 30 minute train ride. Despite the 1600s origin of the building, the services and amenities provided were all first class, with modern plumbing, wifi and heating provided, as well as bar, TV, gym and playstation. If you are wanting the authentic Tuscan experience in a beautiful, quiet setting, I could not suggest a better place.

This small family-run B&B is an idyllic place where to stop and enjoy the silence in this adorable Tuscan town.
Accross the hills of Collodi, this B&B is like a home away from home. The owner, Dario, makes you feel at home with his welcoming smile and friendly atmosphere. There's open access to everything you need, including video games, DVDs, music, free wireless access and even a foosball table!

Though they don't really offer "restuarant" service, the first night we arrived, Dario and his lovely wife cooked a wonderful meal for the 6 of us, seeing as we were too tired to go out. One of the best "home-cooked" meals ever!
Any request, and Dario is always ready to help with suggestions on what to see, where to eat, including on all the close-by activities, rain or shine!
That's the winning recipe of this B&B - professional service, with a family atmosphere. You'll never want to leave!

Dario and Marie Cecchini call this a B & B but go so far beyond the standard that it's more like being adopted into a bilingual Tuscan family. If you want, they'll provide a full service tour package (rental car, recommendations and advice, romantic hotel, and special Tuscan meals provided upon request). Or they'll respect your desire for independence. The location is out of the main tourist scene for an authentic experience of Tuscan hill country while conveniently close to Lucca and a lovely train ride from Florence. In the neighborhood nearby you'll find historic villas, vineyards, and hill towns worth a visit as well as excellent restaurants where San Gennaro Castello guests may be the only non-Italians, depending on the time of year. We recommend the upstairs rooms in this centuries old village house for iconic views over the rooftops of San Gennaro to the countryside beyond. We loved picnicking on the terrace after a long day of sightseeing. Dario and Marie prepared a homestyle Tuscan meal for us and other guests one evening in the heavy-beamed dining room where the free flowing wine and laughter made for an unforgettable evening. This is why you travel, isn't it?

This place is awesome! We had such a good experience here that I am writing this review, which I don't usually do. It was GREAT value; we were paying hostel prices for beautiful rooms & amazing hospitality. We ate like kings thanks to Dario. He cooked us a beautiful Italian meal & assisted us with organizing a wonderful antipasto platter, we had a lot of great wine, felt totally at home & still can't believe what good value it is. Dario & his wife are amazing hosts, give advice on th& make you feel part of the family. Just trust this place & stay here, you won't be disappointed! We are already organizing a return trip!

If you are looking for the perfect Tuscan B&B , stop looking - you found it! San Gennaro Castello B&B is beautiful, exceptionally clean, and conveniently located. My wife and I stayed for 9 days and now consider Dario and Marie our friends. Dario was very helpful with our plans and taught us much about Tuscan living. Marie was delightful and an excellent cook. Our time with them was the highlight of our month in Italy and we hope to return soon. I could go on & on, but read the other reviews - they are all true. I have recommended this B&B to anyone that would listen!
Thank you Dario, Marie, Allegra, & Lapo. Hope to see you again soon!
