“Tranquil beauty with exceptional welcome and hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2011

Ron and Carole go out of their way to ensure that your stay is perfect. From the welcome on arrival, the communal 4 course dinner cooked, served and hosted by Ron, to the fond goodbyes on departure your stay is made memorable and it is clear that they want to be successful. Because they enjoy meeting guests and sharing experiences, there will be no end of people wanting to return - so book early!
The rooms are modern and well presented and the setting is stunning. Saint Beat also offers easy access to stupendous driving, cycling and walking routes.

We stayed here for a night while cycling coast to coast and thoroughly enjoyed the stay here.

Ron's hospitality was top notch and we enjoyed a great evening meal after a full day cycling. Beautiful location and chalet style rooms - shame we could only stay for one night!

Highly recommended!

Also, top marks to Ron for putting up with my Dad calling before we got there and having a 20minute phone converstation with him!!

This B&B was a wonderful find! We stayed in the pretty Aspin room, which had a lovely view of the garden and mountains, and was very roomy with a nice big bathroom and powerful hairdryer. (We found the toilet was very noisy when flushed, but Ron explained this was caused by the narrow pipes).

From the moment we arrived, Ron and Carole couldn't do enough for us. Carole even printed out the weather report for our next destination (San Sebastian) and gave us tips on what to see there. We were also keen to see some of the cols on the Tour de France route, and Ron gave us expert directions. A highlight was meeting and chatting to the other guests over a delicious four course meal, expertly cooked by Ron. Afterwards we all adjourned to the patio for port and coffee, a wonderful evening.

We were grateful for the free wi-fi and free parking in their garden too. On our arrival home, we were delighted to receive a little note from Ron and Carole thanking us for staying with them. We highly recommend this B&B.

Room Tip: The Aspin Room is spacious with a double bed and a single - it also has a big well-appointed bathroo...

Ron and Carole are friendly and the most wonderful hosts. Ron is a great chef and we recommend their four course dinner and accompanying wine. The B&B is ideally situated at the foot of the Pyrennees and they are experts on the surrounding areas, offering welcome advice. The accommodation is charming and comfortable. We look forward to staying there again in the future.

Big thanks to Ron and Carol, fantastic hosts. A real home from home. We arrived after a fairly long motorbike ride from Santander, to be greeted with a four course meal and wine, well worth it. Perfect location for motorbiking and cycling with great roads and passes within easy reach, and cheap petrol only 7km away in Spain for the petrolheads.. The meals are a great way of meeting other people staying there, and just relaxing after the days activities. Ron has got some ideas for you if you are unsure of what to do or where to go such as Maz d'azil and Mirepoix (on the bikes). They also have wifi for that extra research.. Couldn't fault the Chapeau Bleu, well recomended.

Thanks for the lovely review - we appreciate you taking the time out to do this for us. We love Maz d'Azil so delighted you did too.
The wifi is really popular now - a lot of guests tell us that one of the reasons they stay is the free wifi so good to know it is useful.
Hope 2012 is a great year and have a Very Merry Christmas in Bristol...........Best wishes and thanks again. Carole and Ron x

I was still groggy in the morning as I entered the bathroom and thought "what a beautiful picture" they had hanging in the wall... only to realize it was actually a window with the actual pyrenees at the bottom... I still am in shock from that moment.
Aside from how beautiful and well taken care the place is... attention is beyond excellent. Increible place. Can´t wait to go back to forget about routine, work and life. 11/10.

Hello Aaron. Your review made us laugh - I can just imagine you getting up all sleepy and then going in the bathroom and thinking the view was a photo. I must admit it is one of the reasons we bought our home in the first place. Every day we still think we are very lucky to be able to look out of the window and see the Pic du Gar, it is a magnificent mountain.
Thank you for taking the time to write about this and for your very kind comments. Feliz Navided in Barcelona. Best wishes. Carole and Ron

Our room was perfect, felt really comfortable in it. LOVED the shower there too!
