“Lovely food and setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2014

Really enjoyed our meal. We thought the starters were good but on reflection we should have saved our appetites for the massive kebabs! We had steak, duck, steak hache and the lamb chops. The puddings were also delicious. Service was excellent and yes you do have to book!

“Good restaurant, convenient for campsite”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2014

We had just spent two weeks in Spain and were staying at the nearby campsite for our overnight stop, so getting back to a French restaurant was a bit of a culture shock after Spanish cuisine. However, we were not disappointed, though the price was closer to English prices than to Spanish (€65 for 3-course meal for two with wine). To start, we had clafouti of pork and a local cheese and smoked salmon; we both had roast duck, potatoes grenailles and seasonal veg for the main course; finishing with a chocolate mousse and a strawberry Charlotte. All was very good and the service was prompt. No complaints.

“Lovely setting, good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2014

Had a Friday evening meal with the family. Lovely setting in the heart of the village. Sit outside if the weather permits. Food was generally good. Starters and deserts were excellent. The mains were ok, we had duck breast, beef and lamb, each were ok but each came with exactly the same vegetables and it seemed the same sauce, but it was fine with each one.
The staff were lovely, pleasant and attentive.
Not a gourmet French meal but worth the €21 pre fix for the three courses.
I'd come again.

“lovely Auberge”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2014 via mobile

We were staying in the local campsite and walked to the auberge on a lovely sunny evening. Thankfully we had booked as there wasn't a table left outside. The staff were lovely and the menu had enough choice for three teenagers. Our food was excellent though we were sorry we didn't have the house speciality which looked like big kebabs. The kids loved the desserts and overall it was a very pleasant meal in lovely surrsurroundings.

“Incredibly rude and unpleasant, avoid!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

We arrived on a Thursday lunchtime about 1pm and had a look in the beautiful church nearby, having seen some families just going into the restaurant. About 10 minutes later we waited politely as we had seen the other families do just at the entrance. We were completely ignored. The restaurant was busy but there were empty tables within view. After 5 minutes or so I asked politely (in French) for a table for 4. The answer was a very rude 'Non'. When I gestured to the empty tables I got a shrug and 'non' , and an 'absolutely not'. No explanation, no apology. We were left feeling very offended. We were polite and have travelled in France many times and usually find restaurant folk friendly. Needless to say we won't be trying this place again and will let our hosts know not to recommend it. Poor advertisement for France.
