“Spacious and comfortable rooms with superb view of the ocea”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2013

Rooms are LARGE, with perfect view of the ocean from the room and bathroom. Jacuzzi in the balcony seals the deal!

Breakfast was soso and food at 360 restaurant also mediocore. View from the restaruant is beautiful as the resort is situated on a cliff facing the Indian Ocean.

Spa is not ready yet, so they used one of the rooms as a spa in the interim. 40% discount off spa services if you book before 5pm and 30% after 5pm. Quite a good deal considering you don't have to go outside the hotel.

Hotel is located in Uluwatu, not very accessible and not many amenities around. Closest town is Nusa Dua about 30 mins away.

Beautiful hotel, amazing rooms, very friendly and helpful staff and although we only ate breakfast there, food seemed very good. But the big failing is that there are numerous completely unfenced drops that children could easily fall off, quite conceivably resulting in severe injury or even death, starting with the hotel lobby! If you bring kids, you MUST scout out the areas you are in and warn them or restrain them, which kind of destroys the idea of relaxing!

The first thing that will strike you about Anantara Uluwatu is the stark and minimal entrance, as you move up the steps and enter the lobby...the magic begins...you are exposed to a view of the Azure Indian Ocean..laying in front of you...stunning...endless and mesmerizing...the sea breeze hits your face...you sip on your welcome drink and check in... Awesome...! I spent 4 nights with my wife at this amazing hotel...we took an ocean facing suite and it was worth the extra money...

The views sitting atop the cliffs of Uluwatu alone make up for everything...you can pay thrice as much at the Bulgari resort or Alila Soori... but because of the soft opening you can get a real bang for your buck..

Me and my wife just pulled up 2 chairs and stared into the the ocean all day ..the service was impeccable...The Food was just about ok.

The staff was excellent, smiling..welcoming and making you feel special..this is why Asian hotels knock global chains out..it`s the hospitality as opposed to cold clinical hotels.

To end it all...the SPA Balinese Massage was out of this world....

It sucks to be back to regular city life.. long to visit the cliffs of Uluwatu again.

I stayed here with my husband as part of our honeymoon. The Uluwatu cliff ocean view is sooo amazing, either from the room, the restaurant and especially from the pool! The pool was great just like the pictures posted online. The staffs were friendly and the room was very spacious and comfortable with an outdoor jacuzzi tub at the balcony.
Therefore there are several problems:
1) Lack of privacy (We stayed at Ocean View Suite) because some parts of the resort are still under construction, so the workers could see us while we were at the balcony... very uncomfortable.
2) The breakfast was so so... not much of the choice. The same thing with the menu at the restaurant or the bar, limited choice and long serving time.
3) There was no direct access to the beach.
4) The administration system was pretty slow.
But overall it was still a nice stay... Do ask for the shuttle schedule for your convenience.

Room Tip: I guess the ocean front villa will have more privacy, please check with the resort.

We stayed here for four nights and it was truly wonderful. The pool is just lovely, the bedrooms gorgeous and big and the staff were friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. We travelled with our three teenagers who loved being so close to the surf at Padang Padang. We are looking forward to returning very soon.

We stayed here as part of our honeymoon and splurged on a room with its own pool. The hotel was gorgeous, the staff very helpful and the food was lovely.
As others have said there are a lot of steps, so I wouldn't take my parents to this resort.
Perfect place for couples who need a break and want to splurge a little.

This place really is as stunning in real life as it was in the images online. A truly beautiful place to getaway to. We were travelling with our 1 year old son and were looking to splurge for a few relaxing days away from it all and this is exactly what we got. Having read some reviews prior to our visit we were a little concerned it may not meet our expectations, however these fears were not realised. The staff were so friendly and went above and beyond on many occasions to make our stay enjoyable. We would have come in contact with 50 staff a day, including waiters, reception, pool attendants, bell boys, gardeners, kitchen staff, the chef, cleaners, spa staff and management and every single time they were delightful and professional. The pool is stunning, the food was consistently good, the breakfast was great. The room is enormous, with a great bathroom and outdoor bath and the bed is like sleeping in clouds. My wife's spa experience was also very relaxing. There was still some construction going on but this was minimal and didn't interfere with our experience or disturb our son's day time naps. Although this is not a typical family resort, we found it a great, easy place to holiday with a toddler, especially with the attention and assistance of all of the staff. We would love to come back. Hopefully the post-construction rates allow us to return!
