“incredible views, great stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2014

we loved our stay at the Vista Las Islas. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the grounds are beautiful. The rooms are fairly simple but all seem to have great views of the islands. The pool area, hammock houses, and landscaping / gardens are beautiful. We rented kayaks at the Curu Wildlife Park and kayaked out to the islands. We found a private beach around the back side of the 2nd island out and had the beach to our self for 3 hours. We had dinner at the restaurant and was impressed with the quality of food and freshness. The portion sizes were very generous as well.

Stunning views of the bay and islands from the pool area and restaurant. Rooms are clean and well appointed. Most rooms have balconies with equally stunning views as at the pool. Food is ok at the restaurant, but there is literally nowhere else to go if you want to eat elsewhere. This place is way up a hill out of town far from anything else. That said, it is still very close to the paquera ferry. A word on wildlife... We could hear but not see howler monkees in the rainforest below the hotel down the hill. We also had intimate encounters with enormous bugs on our balcony. Youve been warned.

We stayed in the Vista Las Islas Hotel during our trip in Costa Rica, and it was a great experience. The view from the hotel and the rooms is truly stunning. The rooms are large, beautiful, and clean, and the restaurant was good.

Im looking to travel to CR & visit Isla Tortuga & Montezuma. I would love to stay at this intimate family hotel. I would like to know how I can set up to stay there arriving from the airport. I al not planning on renting a car. Any suggestions how and whom to reserve with the transportation?

Wow, what a view!!! When you arrive at the top of the property, you actually see Islas Tourtugas just as the picture indicates. No walking around to find the vista...it's right there!! The owners were around the entire time and they seem to work all day and night!! They were very friendly and helpful as well. The pool area was really nice and the dining room was open air and very comfortable. We were only there for 1 night but definitely wanted to stay longer!! We had dinner there and their chef is very talented. My wife and I shared a bottle of very nice red wine. For dinner, my wife had the fresh fish and I had a spaghetti bolognese. Both were simply delicious!!! Bravo!! Yes, the menu is limited, but it seems unreasonable to ask a hotel located in the middle of nowhere to have everything under the sun!! It was definitely one of, if not the best, meal that we had while in CR. Onto the room...we had room #10 which was the honeymoon suite. Wow, again, great view from our private porch!!! Bathroom was very nice and clean, spacious room without any complaints. It had AC, ceiling fan, safe in the closet, fridge, sofa/sitting area, nice decour and cool lighting. It's only about 10 minutes from the town of Paquera which has a few sodas and a MegaSuper grocery for supplies. It's also only 20 minutes to Curu Wildlife Refuge where we did horseback riding and the snorkeling/boat tour. If you want that view, go there!!

We booked that hotel specifically because it was far away from everything, technologies, cities, cell phones etc.... We really enjoyed our week their. Switched and flashed our minds from daily routine. This is the perfect spot for that. Hotel owners were more then friendly, we had a problem at the day we arrived their (car accident) and they helped us a lot. Beach is a bit away, car is recommended, you can drive around visit village and nearby cities. We have no complains everything was great even a roared monkey in the forest :)

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for four days, after having explored the Central Valley and before driving on to Manuel Antonio National Park, and -hands down- our stay at Hotel Vista Las Islas was the highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. We took the ferry from Puntarenas to Paquera and the ride on the ferry across the Gulf of Nicoya was tremendous, but when we arrived at the hotel, things got even better! The view from the hotel is simply amazing - you can see the Gulf, the islands and beneath you the jungle. The owners of the hotel are very nice and helpful - they really want you to have the best Costa Rican experience possible and they try to make it as authentic as possible. The rooms are very clean and offer a lot of comfort, making it really good value for money compared to other hotels (we went during the rainy season, which is not the high season for tourists, and got a good deal on our room) and each room has the same wonderful view. We would wake up early in the morning to the sound of the jungle and would then enjoy a delicous breakfast on the terrace offering the same incredible view. We would spend some time in the wonderful pool and would then drive on to explore other parts of the peninsula. We had a car which made it easy to drive to other places, and the owners of the hotel gave us a lot of helpful advice. I would recommand to rent a car when you visit the peninsula, and also other parts of Costa Rica, since it makes it so much easier to explore the country. Our stay at the hotel was very relaxing, exactly what we were looking for. You are in the middle of a forest, far away from traffic, but you can still enjoy the comfort which the hotel has to offer. For couples and families, this is just the perfect getaway in Costa Rica.
