So well made. Excellent and very courteous. Superb food. Siasp did enthral us with his experiences and insight of not only the jungle but also on his views of non convectional system of studies! - This is true and we enjoyed our stay very much and it still lingers in our memories...

Room Tip: If you want a real experience of jungle stay with luxury choose this stay.

We were looking for somewhere in India to rent a self-catering cottage - our ideal option was to stay somewhere beautiful, where we could see some Indian wildlife, where we could walk to a village to buy local supplies, and where the weather would be good (not too hot - we're from England!). We got all that and more at Bamboo Banks. The owners were incredibly helpful and accommodating - they don't normally do self-catering stays, but offered to fit one of their four cottages out with an improvised kitchen for us, and replied promptly and helpfully to our many emails prior to our stay about the cottage, the climate, the area etc! The weather during our stay was lovely - mainly sunny days, but with some wind and some showers for variety. The property the cottages are in is divine - loads of trees (particularly bamboos which creak wonderfully in the wind) giving lots of dappled shade. Cow, ducks, geese, dogs, peacocks, monkeys, squirrels, horses and a donkey wander around... A beautiful swimming pool surrounded by flowers and with hammocks to laze on and views of the Nilgiri Hills. A large jungly area at the back of the property which you can walk around (or go for a ride around on one of the owners' horses) looking for the elusive mongoose, and a river running along the bottom of the property which you can dabble your feet in. Extremely helpful and accommodating owners and staff, flexible re the meals they provide (when we didn't feel like cooking they could cook us food, including a fantastic late breakfast of dosas and idli and sambal at 11am delivered to the patio outside our cottage). Our cottage (Stone Cottage) was lovely and roomy - big main room, plus additional room plus bathroom. Its a 5-10 minute walk to the local village (Masinagudi) which has all the supplies you need for cooking, as well as quite a few restaurants serving delicious and cheap (at least for Western money) Indian food. Local people relaxed (i.e. not in any way hassling of tourists) and friendly - smiling, saying hello to us, helping us find places etc. Overall a lovely part of India, Bamboo Banks is a beautiful property and its owners and the staff exceptionally helpful and accommodating - would thoroughly recommend and would love to go back one day!

What I Liked;
a) The property - serene, ample privacy
b) Hospitality was re defined - awesome christmas dinner
c) Food was great
d) The Brick house was cool too.

This place deserves to go back again and this time we intend to stay in the stone house.

What can improve?
I had to think hard..so, I guess its nothing much to mention..

Btw, this trip was in Dec 2010.

I had a chance to go to Bamboo Banks with my family and family friends. What I liked about the place was the hospitality and the "simply amazing" food. The couple managing the show are very warm and Hospitable. The cottages were clean and especially the stone cottage is simply the best for spending time with family and friends.

We had a great time in the pool and kids loved the horse ride.

Overall we had a great time.

We had an amazing stay in Bamboo Banks. The property is situated right next to the forest, deer,sambar deer,and and birds are a common sight! The food there is to die for, each meal just gets better and better-parsee, continental and indian!! The cottage we were in was very clean,comfortable, and cozy. Bamboo Banks has the most ingenious entrance gate!! The hospitality and care we were shown was exemplary. This place is a must for any holiday maker!!!

We booked 2 cottages for one night with the all meals package. Kids aged 11, 9 and 8 enjoyed the seeing ducks, peacock, deers and langoors at the guest house and also being close to nature. Also they loved the free horse rides. Cottages are bit old with rustic feel possibly time to upgrade the bathrooms to get 3 star and above. We were well looked after by Zarasp and friendly team so thanks. Only saw deers and peacock in the govt run safari nearby however kids enjoyed the elephant feeding at Thepakadu. Free drop and pick up by the guest house to the safari and back. Overall enjoyed our stay and was learning experience for us city folks. Swim in the pool was also refreshing as it has no chlorine and is fresh bore water.

Room Tip: Choose the stone cottage if you want to be close to nature. A wild elephant had recently visited the...

Had the most wonderful and rejuvinating family holiday! The Natural beauty of this resort is breathtaking! The coziness and privacy of the cottages is the best we have experienced. The staff and service is excellent. Great variety of homemade food at every meal. The one thing that surpasses all this is the very warm hospitality of the owners Zerasp, Shahnaz and Siasp who go out of their way to ensure that you have a great experience. Will definitely visit again soon!
