“The best Italian in Kamala”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2012

During our stay we visited the place twice, first of all I would like to say that the food what we have tried was really amazing. Plus fast and good service made our visit unforgettable.

I recommend to everyone:

- tuna with grilled vegetable (medium rare)- cooked to perfection, seasoning, presentation was excellent!

- risotto with rosemary, mushrooms and Parmesan - was the best risotto what I have eaten in my life, even in Italy I haven't got such as good, light, perfectly tasting risotto

- pizza - it´s good, tasty, but not as good as from Italy, but definitely the best in Kamala (we tried all Italian restaurants in Kamala during our 3 months stay here)

- desert Pana cotta - was amazing, light, right temperature, not too sweet as some places do it

- desert Chocolate cake with ice cream- was really amazing, not dry, filled with chocolate, and almost the same as from Hangendazz "lava chocolate cake"

“Not Impressed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2012

We felt like a Pizza so thought we would give this place a try as it did have a TripAdvisor recommendation on the sign out the front. Service was prompt as you expect in Thailand, however the pizza was poor quality. The toppings really did appear to be just thrown on top with little consideration to the presentation or edibility of the pizza; the olives were not sliced, i ended up slicing them myself and spreading over the pizza, large chunks of onion that were virtually inedible, we ended up removing them from the pizza, and some cheese and a few bits of meat. I would have no hesitation in stating that it was the worst pizza i have eaten. In hindsight, I should have discussed this with the manager at the time, but being on holiday, one does not want to have these worries. Would not consider going here again

“A little more expensive, but worth it”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2012

After spending a month in Thailand, we were looking for a decent place to get some international food. Lonelyplanet recommended Basilico, so we finally thought we should check it out, hoping it would be worth it.

Seafood salad was really nice, the seafood tasted fresh. And we all had seafood with pasta. It was a pleasant change to be able to have the food quality match what you were paying for it, as opposed to the other mediocre international food that can be found in Phuket.

The servers and owner were always quick to respond to our request for more water or extra napkins.

We were happy with the service and food, and will return if ever in Kamala

“Good light pizza”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2012

Went to Basilico last night as the girlfriend was craving some pizza.

Ordered a margherita and a ham pizza. Both beautiful - very light, not over cheesy or too much ham. Very nice.

Price was a little more than you might pay other places in Phuket, but others pizzas along kamala beach were going for a similar price.

Service was pretty good although sometimes it felt like we were interrupting their conversation when asking for another round of drinks etc.

Overall, a happy experience (and satisfied the other half's craving for pizza)
