The staff here are very friendly but it simply wasn't clean. The surfaces weren't wiped, there were drink stains on them and by the bed a large bogey was stuck to the wall. The toiler was very grubby too. The bed was very soft and not comfortable. My room wasn't serviced at all the first day and, despite complaining, the following day wasn't much better, the floor wasn't vacuumed or the surfaces wiped. The toilet was very grubby and needed a good scrub. It's a convenient hotel for local attractions and the staff are friendly but something must be done about the cleaning standards.

Room was advertised on web at £44 but wouldnt work so called to book and had to pay £80 plus extra for breakfast, which it turns out was just a happy meal in a cardboard box! Hotel was dated, not toileteries, hairdryer etc

We got there from the night ferry at about 1 in the morning, we were showed to a cold room with curtains open, 2 very skinny beds awaited us in room 2 which is a disabled room. The beds were comfortable enough and the duvet warm and clean, the TV had no remote control and if you slept by the window every time you moved you moved the curtain letting in the light from outside waking you up. Being so near reception when the rest of the ferry arrived the noise was huge. So couldn't get to sleep till the noise died down. there was a heater in the room but it didn't come on till the morning so the room remained cold.

All the staff are friendly, welcoming, courteous and very informative regarding local facilities and services which is a bonus. Our double room was well facilitated, spacious (with large settee included) warm and very comfortable including the bed and bedding enhanced by the provision of very comfy extra pillows. Like the room, the bathroom was immaculate, water temperature perfect with a plentiful supply of towels. A Little Chef adjacent to the TL car park is a boon if you want a full cooked breakfast etc. A very comfortable and pleasant stay. Only tiny niggle - intermittent traffic noise from the A40 nearby may disturb a few light sleepers but a pair of good earplugs eliminates this! But in conclusion, this Travel Lodge is very good value for what serves as an upmarket and welcoming experience. Excellent. Will stay there on our next visit to nearby Laugharne and the surrounding area.

The location seems to benefit the hotel more than the guests. For some reason they are able to charge top whack prices (sometimes akin to London prices) due to its location.

The area is fairly affluent and a main connection for two ports, holiday destinations and people; traveling from mid west wales to Cardiff or Swansea so the prices (while cheaper than other local places) are still extortionate for a hotel with few services and badly in need of refurbishing.
I have stayed here numerous times due to work and often the TVs are old or bits missing from the remote (or the remote missing all together) scuffed walls, damaged showers, poor lighting. All tiny things but they make a difference for the price they demand.
Wifi is charged extra, the breakfast boxes are ridiculous for the money and the near by Little Chef, while a nice enough place, can get expensive if its the only place you can eat.
Staff are nice though and have always helped me resolve problems or complaints, but for the money, I shouldn't have so many.
Going back as its my only option
