We weren't expecting any sort of luxury resort for the rate we paid...it's a nice property and even if we didn't get a beachfront bungalow, we had a nice view of the garden from our balcony..access is from the beach so might not be too easy if you're luggage has wheels..still, it's only about 100m from the road..
What we did find a bit annoying was the smell of the room...it rained a lot during our stay and when it wasn't, the weather was humid (NOT the hotel's fault, of course)..since the bungalow is mostly made of wood and lots of bamboo elements inside the room, there was a murky smell which we noticed each time we went inside the room...it will go away after a few minutes so I guess we just got used to it..
The staff helped us organize an island-hopping tour and got us snorkeling equipment...we also had dinner one night and it was good (not a lot of choices in Port Barton)..
Even if electricity is available a couple of hours a day, it would be great to have WiFi...then again, you don't exactly come/stay here to be connected..
One thing we did enjoy was going out to swim in the middle of the night...beach is just outside and no one around to disturb you..
