“A wonderful hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2011

This is a nice cosy hotel on Åland. I stayed here one night in work. They have nice breakfast and food as well. They also have a sauna and a jacuzzi. The main building with the reception contains the restaurant and some conference rooms. The hotel rooms are located in other cottage type buildings around the main one. There is sea view from almost all facilities. The hotel is located very privately in the forest beside the sea. So if you want quiet time for your self, this is it. The rooms were clean, comfortable and cosy.

I definitely recommend this hotel.

I spent a long weekend at this lovely resort. Created with independent eco designed bungalows straight out in the wilderness of northern Åland, with a very close contact to the Baltic sea.
A part from Bungalows there are also hotel rooms and service centrum with Restaurant.
Everything was fine but there is room for improvements when it comes to Restaurant and Bar.
A certain lack of service accuracy and profile. But hey, that's not why you go there.
Enjoy the nature and the very nice Bungalows.

Room Tip: Chose a free standing Bungalow with 2 sleeping rooms and one large living.

There is no doubt the location is 10 star. The food for breakfast & dinner is 5 star. However, the rooms are somewhat disappointing - at least in high summer: There is no air con, and so you have the choice of roasting with the windows closed, or being bitten by mosquitoes. It hardly makes for a good nights sleep. If you book it is probably worth asking for a room with a view, since the views are stunning. Looking around it appeared that several rooms would have very disappointing views. In summary we loved the location and food, but had two terrible nights sleep. Service was efficient and friendly.

Stayed 2 weeks this summer in one of the fantastic resortvillas at Havsvidden. Don't forget to choose a villa with both sauna and jacuzzi on the terrace.
The hotel is great with good food and service but we preferred to make our own meals in the house. The restaurantmenu gets a little boring when you stay for 2 weeks. Until next time we hope they have more to choose from on the a la cartemenu. Fishmeals are not everyones favorite, maybe a burger?. Planning to visit Havsvidden in the winter too which is supposed to be almost better than during summer.

we arrived on a beautifully sunny day and really made the most of the facilities; the great restaurant, the sauna and sea dip withe the kids and the really comfortable cottage. The food was excellent and considering the setting and quality was good value as was the cottage, it was very comfortable and our teenage daughters appreciated the luxury and the area. The only complaint, we are really scrapping the bottle of the barrel to find it, is that the lack of black out blinds or curtains made sleeping difficult. However take some sleep masks and enjoy!

Driving there was fun, anticipated a beautiful sea view place. The first view is stunning and let you expect more and more. But a strange story at check-in that all the rooms were originally built not-looking to the sea... The room was a small shock - smaller you can only find in central Paris. This is not a 4-star hotel standard. No AC, not even a fan, no fridge, no balcony, no sea view, not good materials, it was just a cottage (style from 80s).

The food was fine but standard, no kitchen welcome. Where was a butler? Where was explanations of the menus? The service was nice but too humble.

Good breakfast. (Is the pancake the only Åland speciality in this place?)
Obviously the place suffers of the vast number of temporary employees. As a family owned place this would rock!

Room Tip: Try to get a klipp hus for 1 week for your family for writing a novel, get your own food and wine.

+ Great location, totally secluded with fantastic scenary.
+ Good food in the restaurant (bad service though).
+ Nice resortfacilities: indoor pool, saunas, jacuzis.

- The service was friendly but a little bit unprofessional.
- The rooms are not 4-star, no AC, no blackout-curtains.
